Is Muhammad mentioned in the Bible?

Is Muhammad mentioned in the Bible?

7:157 Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to the right and forbids them from the wrong, and he makes lawful for them the pure things and makes unlawful for them the impure things and he relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believe in him, and honor him, and help him and follow the light, which has been sent down with him, those are the successful ones."

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(There is a point to consider - that it is said that Jesus did not write the Christians’ Gospel but is anonymous and was written in Greek instead of Aramaic (Aramaic is a Semitic language similar to Arabic), so one interpretation is that Verse 61:6 restores Jesus’ words, said in the original Gospel. This interpretation could be confirmed by Verse 5:48, “We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian/protector over it”. So, the Gospel is guarded / preserved through the Qur’an; and this interpretation could also be supported by Verse 7:157, because Verse 7:157 only refers to those who follow the Messenger (Muslims), they also follow the Qur’an, because the Messenger only follows what is revealed to him (7:203); on the other hand, the people of the Book (aka Bible) oppose the Messenger (3:98, 2:109, 3:65), so they do not follow him, and they do not find him written in the Torah and the Gospel, because they do not believe in the Qur’an, which could restore what is in the Gospel; so Verse 7:157 specifies only a party who could find him written, “those who follow the Messenger”, “whom they find written with them” (7:157))(Another interpretation is that the ‘current’ Torah and Gospel speak about Muhammad, because it is said that he is mentioned in Isaiah 42, Deuteronomy 8:15-19, Matthew 21:33-46, John 1:19-25; 14:15-17, 25-30; 15:25-6; 6:7-15)(Another point is that the sentence “Gospel according to John / Matthew / Mark / Luke” implies that it is not the original, because God revealed the Gospel (3:3), while “the Gospel according to (people)” is a human testimony)(Allah knows best)

2:127 And when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and Ishmael, "Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. 2:128 Our Lord, and make us Muslims [submissive] to You and from our descendants a Muslim community [submissive] to You. And show us our rites and turn to us. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning, the Most Merciful. 2:129 Our Lord, raise up in them a Messenger, who will recite to them Your Verses and will teach the Book and the wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

(In regard to the Torah, it is said that the Torah had multiple authors and that its composition took place over centuries, so one interpretation is that these Verses restore when Abraham referred to Muhammad. This is confirmed by Verse 5:48 as well, “We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian/protector over it”. So, the Torah is guarded / preserved through the Qur’an)(But, another interpretation, is that Muhammad is mentioned in the current Torah; he is mentioned in Isaiah 42 and Deuteronomy 8:15-19)(Allah knows best)

5:48 And We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their vain desires when the truth has come to you. For each of you We have made a law and a clear way. And if Allah had willed, He would have made you one community [and] but to test you in what He has given you; so race to good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.

5:13 So for their breaking of their covenant We cursed them and We made their hearts hard. They distort words from their places, and forgot a part of what they were reminded of. And you will not cease to discover treachery from them except a few of them. But forgive them and overlook. Indeed, Allah loves the good-doers. 5:14 And from those who said, Indeed we are Christians," We took their covenant; but they forgot a part of what they were reminded of. So We aroused enmity and hatred between them until the Day of Resurrection. And soon Allah will inform them of what they used to do.

(According to Verses 5:13-14, the Jews and the Christians “forgot a part of what they were reminded of”, so the “exact” sentences of Verses 61:6 and 2:129 are not found in the Torah and the Gospel, but they are found in the Qur’an)(Likewise, the Jews do not believe in Hell, because it seems that they erased or forgot almost everything about Hell from the Scripture; and likewise, maybe they failed in deleting everything about Muhammad, so they also failed to delete or forget everything about Hell, because, in regard to Hell, according to Daniel 12:2, “multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt”; Psalm 145:20 “The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy”; Psalm 78:65-66 “then the Lord awoke as from sleep, as a warrior wakes from the stupor of wine. He beat back his enemies; he put them to everlasting shame”)(Allah knows best)

17:81 And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood perished. Indeed, the falsehood is (bound) to perish."

(In regard to Isaiah 42, Isaiah 42:1 says, “here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight”. And Isaiah 42:6 says, “I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,”; so according to Isaiah 42:6, he is sent to all the people; likewise, Muhammad is the only Messenger sent to the whole mankind (See the link below, “For whom is Islam/the Qur'an? To whom was Muhammad sent?”); and Isaiah 42:11 tells his location, “let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy”. According to Ezekiel 27:21, “Kedar” is Arabia, “Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your customers”. In regard to “Sela”, mentioned in Isaiah 42:11, “Sela” is a mountain in Medina (Saudi Arabia). Another point is that there were many Jews in Medina, before the advent of Prophet Muhammad; there were 9 tribes: Banu Nadir, Banu Qainuqa, Banu Qurayza, Banu Alfageer, Banu Awf, Banu Harith or Bnei Chorath, Banu Jusham, Banu Quda’a and Banu Shutayba (Source: article “History of the Jews in Saudi Arabia” in wikipedia); it is said that there were such numerous Jewish tribes within Madinah because the learned Jews were aware of this prophecy in Isaiah, and were awaiting the coming of a new Prophet; this might be confirmed by Verses 26:195-197, “In clear Arabic language. … Is it not a sign to them that the scholars of the Children of Israel know it?”)(In regard to Isaiah 42:10, it says “sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth”. After the Bismillah (1:1), the Qur’an opens with “All praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds” (1:2); this first Chapter of the Qur’an is recited everyday, in the prayers, by Muslims all over the world; so it seems that Isaiah 42:10 refers to it, “his praise from the ends of the earth”)(In regard to Isaiah 42:16, it says “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them”; this seems in accordance with Verse 32:3 of the Qur’an, “Or (do) they say, "He invented it?" Nay, it (is) the truth from your Lord, that you may warn a people (to whom) no warner has come before you so that they may be guided.”; and also in accordance with Verse 34:44, “And We (had) not given them Scriptures which they could study, and We (had) not sent to them before you any warner.”)(Isaiah 42:17 says, “but those who trust in idols, who say to images, ‘you are our gods’, will be turned back in utter shame”. Jews were already monotheists, while pagan Arabs worshiped idols, before the advent of Prophet Muhammad)(Allah knows best)

27:76 Indeed, this Qur’an relates to the Children of Israel most of that (concerning which) they differ in it.

(Judaism is a racist religion, because, according to themselves, a person must have a Jewish mother in order to be a Jew, then it might be a reason to reject Jesus, after announcing the coming of Muhammad)(Genesis 17:4 explicitly says that the covenant is that God will make Abraham the father of many nations; Muslims follow the religion of Abraham, so the covenant is fulfilled with the descendants of Ishmael, not Isaac)(See also the link below, “Does the Qur'an say that Palestine/Israel belongs to the Muslims or to the Jews?”)(Allah knows best)

110:2 And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes.

(Despite Jews omitted the mention of Muhammad, there is a prediction in the Torah which is fulfilled with Muhammad, so he is again implicitly mentioned: Genesis 17:20, “And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation”)(Allah knows best)

16:123 Then We revealed to you to follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not of those who associate."

7:158 Say, "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, to Whom is the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him, He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided."

(Some non-Muslims try to prove the Qur’an wrong, by saying that Verses 5:155-158 says that the Gospel was mentioned to Moses, while in fact, in Verse 7:156, one “topic” was concluded, and in Verse 7:157, a new one begun. For more information, see the link below, “Moses and the Gospel?”)(In the case of 7:158, it is interpreted that it is not about Moses speaking about Muhammad, but the sentence “say...” is commanded to Muhammad, and addressed to the whole mankind)(Allah knows best)
