Do Christians have to follow the Qur’an/Islam?

Do Christians have to follow the Qur’an/Islam?

2:135 And they said, "Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided." Say, "Nay, the religion of Abraham, the upright; and he was not of those who associated partners."

(According to Verse 2:135, Jews and Christians do not follow the true religion anymore)(Muslims follow the religion of Abraham, so it is not a new religion)(Allah knows best)

3:100 O you who believe, if you obey a group from those who were given the Book they will turn you back, after your belief, (as) disbelievers.

5:47 And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed in it. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then those are the defiantly disobedient. 5:48 And We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their vain desires when the truth has come to you. For each of you We have made a law and a clear way. And if Allah had willed, He would have made you one community [and] but to test you in what He has given you; so race to good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.

(According to Verse 5:47, the people of the Gospel are let judge with the Gospel, but it specifies “by what Allah has revealed in it”, so not by what Allah has not revealed in it. It is said that Jesus did not write the Gospel but is anonymous and the language is in Greek instead of Aramaic (the language of Jesus), and the current Bible has verses which are not in the oldest Bible sources (Papyrus, Codex Vaticanus and Codex Sinaiticus), so it is not a reliable source. What Allah has revealed” (5:48) is in contrast with “their vain desires” (5:48), so they do not follow the correct religion anymore. Verse 3:4 says that the Qur’an is a “Criterion”, to know what is true. And Verse 5:48 says “We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming the Book that came before it and as a guardian over it”. The root of “muhayminan” (a guardian) is “ha-Miim-Nun”, and it means “to put a thing in a purse or girdle. In charge of treasury / soldiers / granary / craftsmen; etc.”. It could be interpreted that the Qur’an only validates that which the Qur’an Itself contains about the Bible, so the Bible cannot contradict the Qur’an)(Verse 5:48 also says “for each of you We have made a law and a clear way”; the root of “kullin” (each / all) is “Kaf-Lam-Lam”, and it means “the parts put together. This is the concrete and it means all or every or each”. So, according to the definition, “each of you” refers to the whole (all) mankind, so it is the same law and clear way for everybody. Other communities are disbelievers if they disbelieve in the Verses of the Qur’an (29:47). Ways other than Islam do not lead to Paradise; this is confirmed by Verse 3:85 “and whoever seeks other than Islam as religion – then never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be from the losers”)(See the link below “Is the Bible corrupted?”)(Allah knows best)

7:23 Both of them said "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers."

(Those who wronged themselves, they have to repent and ask forgiveness for their sins, as Adam and his wife did (7:23). And also salvation is obtained by those who believe and do righteous deeds (4:122). The killing of the Prophets do not make people obtaining salvation, but they obtain a punishment (2:61))(Jesus was not even sent to the whole mankind, but only to the Children of Israel; this is confirmed by Matthew 15:24, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”; so, in regard to crucifixion, the purpose was not to save the whole mankind, but Jesus was the one to be saved. Jesus asked for salvation (Luke 22:42 and Hebrews 5:7). Christians say that the Old Testament confirms the crucifixion of Jesus (Psalm 22:16), but, according to the context, even in that case, he asks to be saved (Psalm 22:19-20, 22:24). Psalm 22:24 and Hebrews 5:7 suggest that Jesus’ petition was responded, so he was saved from being killed. See the links below: “To whom was Jesus sent?” and “Did Jesus die for the sins of mankind? Was Jesus crucified?”)(Allah knows best)

61:14 O you who believe, be helpers of Allah, as said Jesus, son of Mary, to the disciples, "Who are my helpers for Allah?" The disciples said, "We are the helpers of Allah." Then a group of Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy and they became dominant.

(Christians and Jews are required to follow the Qur’an. Jesus announced the coming of Muhammad to the Children of Israel (61:6), and Muhammad was sent to the whole mankind (7:158, 34:28, 3:96, 21:107, 6:19, 36:70), including Jews and Christians. On the other hand, Jesus was only sent to the Children of Israel)(See also the article below, “Is Muhammad mentioned in the Bible?”)(Allah knows best)

5:72 They certainly disbelieve who say, "Indeed Allah - He is the Messiah, the son of Mary." While the Messiah said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates partners with Allah, then surely Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode will be the Fire. And there will be no helpers for the wrongdoers.

43:57 And when the son of Mary is presented as an example, behold, your people laughed aloud … 43:59 He was not except a slave on whom We bestowed Our favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

3:47 She said, "My Lord how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" He said, "Thus Allah creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, then He only says to it, "Be," and it becomes. 3:48 And He will teach him the Book, and wisdom, and the Torah, and the Gospel. 3:49 And a Messenger to the Children of Israel, "Indeed, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord - that I design for you from clay like the form of the bird, then I breath into it and it becomes a bird by the permission of Allah. And I cure the blind, and the leper, and I give life to the dead by the permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed, in that is surely a sign for you, if you are believers. 3:50 And confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and so that I make lawful for you some of that which was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me.

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

47:2 And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition.

41:44 And if We had made a Qur’an in a foreign (language), they would have said, "Why are its Verses not explained in detail? Is it a foreign (language) and an Arab?" Say, "It is for those who believe, a guidance and a healing." And those who do not believe, there is deafness in their ears, and it is for them blindness. Those are being called from a far place."

(Those who complain because the language of the Qur’an is in Arabic, according to this Verse, if the Qur’an had been revealed in any other language, they would have not believed anyhow, so they use it as an excuse; so the answer to them is “it is for those who believe, a guidance and a healing”, regardless of someone’s native language)(Allah knows best)

26:198 And if We had revealed it to anyone of the foreigners. 26:199 And he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 26:200 Thus We have inserted it into the hearts of the criminals.

(Similarly, those who complain because the Messenger is Arab, according to this Verse, if the Messenger had been non-Arab and was to recite it to them (the criminals), they would have not believed anyhow, so they use it as an excuse)(Allah knows best)

6:19 Say, "What thing is greatest as a testimony?" Say, "Allah is Witness between me and you. And this Qur’an has been revealed to me so that I may warn you with it and whoever it reaches. Do you truly testify that there are other gods with Allah?" Say, "I do not testify." Say, "He is but One God, and indeed, I am free of what you associate.

7:158 Say, "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, to Whom is the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him, He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him so that you may be guided."

3:96 Indeed, the first House set up for mankind was that at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

34:28 And We have not sent you except to all mankind, as a giver of glad tidings and as a warner. But most people do not know.

21:107 And We have not sent you, except as a mercy for the worlds. 21:108 Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is One God; so will you submit/be Muslims?"

36:70 To warn him who is alive, and the Word may be proved true against the disbelievers.

6:155 And this is a blessed Book which We have revealed, so follow it and fear so that you may receive mercy. 6:156 Lest you say, "The Book was only revealed to the two groups before us, and indeed we were certainly unaware about their study."

50:45 We know best what they say, and you are not the one to compel them. But remind with the Qur’an whoever fears My threat.

3:85 And whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be from the losers.

(“Islam” is an Arabic word meaning “submission (to God)”. That’s the religion preached by Jesus and all Messengers, because according to Luke 22:42, Jesus said “yet not my will, but yours be done”)(Allah knows best)

22:78 And strive for Allah with the striving which is due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you any difficulty in the religion. The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this, that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over mankind. So establish prayer and give zakah (charity) and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - so an Excellent Protector and an Excellent Helper.

(“Muslim” is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits (to God)". By definition, all Prophets were Muslims)(According to Acts 11:26, the disciples were called “Christians” first in Antioch, so the word “Christian” was innovated because it is not mentioned in any of the four Gospels)(Allah knows best)

3:95 Say, Allah has told the truth, then follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not of the polytheists. 3:96 Indeed, the first House set up for mankind was that at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the worlds. 3:97 In it are clear signs, the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it - is safe. And to Allah upon the people is a pilgrimage to the House – for whoever is able to it a way. And whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.

(Muslims follow the religion of Abraham. This is ordered in the Qur’an. If you do not follow the religion of Abraham, you are not submitting to God)(It is not a new religion, the first House set up for mankind was that at Mecca. It was built by Abraham and Ishmael, and it was the standing place of Abraham (3:95-97))(Those who deny the Verses of the Qur’an are disbelievers (84:22, 2:91, 52:33-34, 46:10, 10:95-97, 23:38-39, 40:70))(Allah knows best)

4:47 O you who (have) been given the Book, believe in what We (have) revealed confirming what is with you, before We efface faces and turn them on their backs or We curse them as We cursed companions of the Sabbath. And the command of Allah is executed.

(According to Verse 4:47, Jews and Christians have to believe in the Qur’an, so they have to follow the religion of Abraham. They could be cursed if they don’t)(Allah knows best)

16:123 Then We revealed to you to follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not of those who associate."

17:15 Whoever is guided then is only guided for his soul. And whoever goes astray then only goes astray against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And We will not punish until We have sent a Messenger.

(Christians innovated that they would be saved by the grace, through faith alone, regardless of their deeds, while according to Matthew 5:17, “do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them”; according to Matthew 23:2-3, “the teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.”; according to Acts 15:5 and 15:20, early Christians followed the Law which Jesus confirmed; according to James 2:14-26, “faith without works is dead”)(See also the link below, “Is salvation obtained by grace through Faith alone or also by works, following the law?”)(Allah knows best)

54:42 They denied Our Signs/Verses, all of them, so We seized them (with) a seizure (of the) All-Mighty, (the) Powerful One.

54:43 Are your disbelievers better than those, or for you (is) an exemption in the Scriptures?

(Christians do not have a license to sin, but those who do not follow the law are disbelievers)(Allah knows best)

68:44 So/(then) leave Me and whoever denies this Statement, We will progressively lead them from where they (do) not know.

22:57 And those who disbelieved and denied Our Verses, then for them (will be) a humiliating punishment.

57:27 Then We sent Our Messengers on their footsteps and We followed with Jesus, son of Mary, and We gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But the monasticism they innovated - We did not prescribe it for them - only seeking the pleasure of Allah, but they did not observe it with right observance. So We gave those who believed among them their reward, but most of them are defiantly disobediently.

4:157 And for their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him nor did they crucify him; but it was made to appear so to them. And indeed, those who differ in it are surely in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And certainly they did not kill him. … 4:159 And there is none from the People of the Book but must believe in it/him before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.

(Muslims believe that Jesus was not killed or crucified, and that it is not required to believe in crucifixion in order to obtain salvation, while Christians think that they must believe in the cross to obtain salvation. This Christian concept contradicts the “Old Testament” (Deuteronomy 24:16, II Kings 14:6, Jeremiah 31:30, Ezekiel 18:20, Psalms 49:7, Numbers 35:33), and contradicts the “New Testament” (Galatians 6:5), and contradicts the Qur’an (17:15))(According to Verse 4:157, the Jews thought that they had killed Jesus, so the purpose of making them think so was addressed to the Jews, because the Verse says, “it was made to appear so “to them””. In order to save Jesus, according to Verse 5:110, the Children of Israel was restrained from Jesus, as a Favor from God to Jesus. So, in regard to crucifixion, Jesus was the one to be saved, not mankind)(Some Christians say that the crucifixion is supported in the Old Testament, that it was predicted in Psalm 22:16, “dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet”, but it is also said that this is a mistranslation or misinterpretation. Even if the translation were correct, according to the context, Psalm 22:19 says, “but you, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me”, Psalm 22:20 “deliver me from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs”, Psalm 22:24 “but has listened to his cry for help”. So, he is asking for help, he does not want to be killed by them. So, it is not about sacrificing his life to save mankind, but, like in the New Testament, Jesus was the one to be saved, not mankind. Besides that, Matthew 15:24 says, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”, so Jesus was not even sent to whole mankind, but only to the Children of Israel. Hebrews 5:7 also says, “during the days of Jesus’life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission”)(Allah knows best)

63:3 That is because they believed, then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed, so they do not understand.

(Jesus used parables. Matthew 13:13 and Luke 8:10 confirm that the purpose of the parables is that they may not understand. According to Matthew 13:34, “Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable”; according to Mark 4:34, Jesus explained everything in private to the (Jewish) disciples; and according to John 18:20, Jesus said nothing in secret in synagogues or at the temple (Jewish places), and according to Matthew 13:36, Jesus explain a parable in private to the (Jewish) disciples. So, one interpretation is that the parables were addressed to non-Jews so that they may not understand, and, on the other hand, Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel (61:14, 43:59, 3:47-50, 5:72, 61:6), so the Gospel was addressed to the Children of Israel, and “in it was Guidance and light” (5:46), Jesus came to the Children of Israel with clear evidences (61:6); instead of with confusion and unclarity)(Allah knows best)

3:140 If a wound touched you, so certainly a similar wound (has) touched the people. And these days We alternate them among the people so that Allah makes evident those who believe and take from you martyrs. And Allah does not love the wrongdoers. 3:141 And so that Allah may purify those who believe and destroy the disbelievers.

(Christians invented that Jesus love anyone, so that he would die for everyone, but there are verses in the New Testament, in the sense of violence and hate, and a prediction of people going to Hell: according to Matthew 10:34, Jesus said, “do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword”; according to Luke 22:36, Jesus said, “And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one”; according to Luke 14:26, Jesus said, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple”; according to Luke 19:27, Jesus told a violent parable, “but those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me”; according to 1 Corinthians 6:9, “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men”; according to Matthew 13:41-42, “everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”)(Allah knows best)

2:168 O mankind, eat from what is on the earth - lawful (and) good. And do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

(Muslims only worship God, they do not worship Satan, nor they love Satan. Satan is an open enemy (2:208). On the other hand, the sentence “love your enemies” (Matthew 5:44) may imply that Christians love/support Satan. Matthew 5:44 was corrupted, because while “love your enemies” was written in the oldest surviving Bible (Codex Vaticanus and Codex Sinaiticus), two new sentences were added in the current Bible (“bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you”), as if there were people’s intention of making the Scripture in a sense of “loving the enemies”. But it is in direct contradiction with other verses (Matthew 10:34, Luke 22:36, Luke 14:26, Luke 19:27), and in direct contradiction with the Torah)(Allah knows best)

58:5 Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, (will) be disgraced as were disgraced those before them. And certainly We have sent down clear Verses. And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment.

(Christians are the ones who oppose the religion, they invent concepts that are not in the Bible. It is said that Paul invented that Jesus’ sacrifice redeemed people, while it contradicts the Bible (Deuteronomy 24:16, II Kings 14:6, Jeremiah 31:30, Ezekiel 18:20, Psalms 49:7, Numbers 35:33, Galatians 6:5), and contradicts the Qur’an (17:15). He also invented that people do not have to follow the Law, while early Christians followed the law (Acts 15:5 and 15:20). It is also said that Paul was trinitarian, but trinitarians are disbelievers (5:72-73, 5:17). Paul persecuted early Christians (Galatians 1:13), who followed the Law, then, Paul as a “Christian”, kept opposing the religion by his fabrications)(God does not guide the wrongdoing people (46:10))(See also the article below “Jesus vs. Paul”)(Allah knows best)

5:44 Indeed, We revealed the Torah wherein was Guidance and light. The Prophets who submitted judged by it for the Jews, as did the Rabbis and the scholars as they were entrusted with the Book of Allah and they were witnesses to it. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not sell My Verses for a little price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then those are the disbelievers.

(Verse 5:44 says, “the Prophets who submitted judged by it”; so in order to submit (aka “be a Muslim”), everyone has to follow and judge by that which God has revealed, not by that which God did not reveal (e.g. Christian’s man-made concepts; that in the Bible which contradicts the Qur’an (Christian sources contradict themselves, so the Qur’an is a Criterion over it)))(Allah knows best)

9:31 They have taken their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, son of Mary, as Lords besides Allah. And they were not commanded except to worship One God. There is no god except Him. Glory be to Him from what they associate.

(Jesus did not follow any rabbi or monk)(Allah knows best)

6:121 And (do) not eat of that on which Allah’s name has not been mentioned, and indeed, it (is) grave disobedience. And indeed, the devils inspire [to] their friends so that they dispute with you, and if you obey them, indeed, you (would) be the polytheists.

(According to Verse 6:121, obeying the devils is polytheism)(Allah knows best)

21:108 Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is One God; so will you submit/be Muslims?"

(God is One, not three; trinitarians are idolaters because they think that creation (e.g. Jesus) is a deity; the idolaters are to be punished in Hell (5:72). See the link below, “Is the doctrine of the trinity correct?”)(Allah knows best)

3:64 Say, "O People of the Book, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we worship none except Allah, nor we associate any partners with Him and that we will not take others as lords besides Allah." Then if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims."

(The people of the Book (Bible is a “Book” which means “Books”) are the ones who have to come to a word that is equitable between Muslims and themselves, because, worshiping the creation (e.g. Jesus) is forbidden)(Allah knows best)

40:66 Say, "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those whom you call besides Allah when the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I am commanded to submit to (the) Lord (of) the worlds.

18:4 And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son."

(According to Verse 9:30, the concept “son of God” is not from God, but from those who disbelieved before. The Qur’an is warning those who say, “Allah has taken a son” (18:4), so the Qur’an is addressed to the whole mankind, including Jews and Christians)(There are Verses directly addressed to “mankind” (4:174, 7:158, 22:1), to “Children of Adam” (7:27, 36:60, 7:31), to people of the Book (Bible)(5:19, 3:64, 3:65), to “Jinn” (6:130, 55:33) and to “Children of Israel” (2:40, 2:47, 20:80). So the Qur’an is for all of them)(See also the links below “For whom is Islam/the Qur'an?” and Is Jesus God and/or the son of God?”)(Allah knows best)

34:31 And those who disbelieve say, "We will never believe in this Qur’an and not in (that) which (was) before it." But if you (could) see when the wrongdoers will be made to stand before their Lord, throw(ing) back some of them to others the word. Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "If not (for) you, certainly we (would) have been believers." … 34:38 And those who strive against Our Verses (to) cause failure, those (will be) brought into the punishment.

22:34 And for every (walikulli) nation We have appointed a rite, that they may mention (the) name (of) Allah over what He (has) provided them of (the) beast (of) cattle. And your God (is) God One, so submit to Him. And give glad tidings (to) the humble ones.

(Verse 22:34 is not about allowing other nations to follow other than Islam (aka Submission (to God)), but the context is about a rite with cattle, over which every/all nation/s may mention the name of Allah)(Notice that Verses 22:34 and 22:67 use the word “kulli”, which also means “all”. So, according to the context, it should be interpreted that it is the same rite for all nations, because Verse 22:34 tells you what is the (same) rite about: “that they may mention (the) name (of) Allah over what He (has) provided them of (the) beast (of) cattle”)(The Bible confirms that you are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols (Acts 15:29))(Allah knows best)

22:67 For every (likulli) nation We have made rites which they perform. So do not let them dispute with you in the matter, but invite to your Lord. Indeed, you surely are on straight guidance.

(Verse 22:67 might be explained by Verse 22:34. Notice that these Verses do not say “different rites”, but the point is that each/all nation/s have to make a rite with the cattle)(Verse 22:67 says, “do not let them dispute with you in the matter, but invite to your Lord”. So, they are not to contradict Muhammad in the matter of the rites, but Muhammad is the one who invite them. So, they were following other than what they should follow. Muhammad invites them because they are required to become Muslims)(Verses 21:92 and 23:52 confirm that the Prophets’ religion is one religion, “And indeed this, your religion, is one religion”. And Verse 3:85 says, “whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him”)(Allah knows best)

21:92 Indeed, this is your religion – one religion, and I Am your Lord, so worship Me.

23:52 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion. And I Am your Lord, so fear Me. 23:53 But they cut off their affair between them into sects, each faction rejoices in what they have.

3:103 And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together, and do not be divided. And remember the Favor of Allah on you when you were enemies, then He made friendship between your hearts then by His Favor you became brothers. And you were on the brink of the pit of the Fire, then He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes clear for you His Verses so that you may be guided. … 3:105 And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs came to them. And they will have a great punishment.

3:83 So is (it) other than the religion of Allah they seek? While to Him (have) submitted whatever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned.

42:13 He has ordained for you of the religion what He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not to be divided therein. Difficult for the polytheists is that to which you call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns.
