Was Jesus a Muslim?

Was Jesus a Muslim?

3:85 And whoever seeks other than Islam as religion - then never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be from the losers.

("Muslim" is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits (to God)". So, according to the definition, Jesus was a Muslim (e.g. Jesus confirmed and followed the law, he invoked God, he used to fast and give charity, etc.))(Islam is an Arabic word meaning “submission (to God)”. That’s the religion preached by Jesus and all Messengers. According to Luke 22:42, Jesus said “yet not my will, but yours be done”)(Non-Muslims wrongly say that the Messengers were not Muslims because, for them, “Muslims” are those who follow Islam, and, for them, Muhammad was the founder of Islam, but non-Muslims do not pay attention to the meaning of the words “Islam” and “Muslim”, which defines the religion of Adam and all the Messengers, because Adam and his wife were commanded not to eat of a tree; so they had to obey / submit (to God); so they had to be “Muslims” (aka those who submit))(See the link below “Were the Prophets Jews or Christians?”)(Allah knows best)

3:52 Then when Jesus perceived disbelief from them, he said, "Who (will be) my helpers (of) Allah." The disciples said "We (will be the) helpers (of) Allah, we believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims.

(The early “Christians” declared themselves Muslims/Submitters (to God)(3:52))(According to Acts 11:26, the disciples were called “Christians” first in Antioch, so the word “Christian” was innovated because it is not mentioned in any of the four Gospels)(Allah knows best)

5:111 And when I inspired to the disciples to believe in Me and in My Messenger they said, "We believe and bear witness that indeed we are Muslims.

2:140 Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the descendants were Jews or Christians (nasara)?" Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

(The word “Christian” is not used in the Qur’an. The literal translation of the Arabic word is “Nazarenes” (i.e. (followers) of the Nazarene))(Allah knows best)

3:67 Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists.

19:31 And He (has) made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined (upon) me the prayer and zakah (charity), as long as I am alive 19:32 And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed. … 1934 That was Jesus, the son of Mary, a statement of truth about which they dispute.

(Muslims also establish prayer and give charity)(Allah knows best)

22:78 And strive for Allah with the striving which is due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you any difficulty in the religion. The religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this, that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over mankind. So establish prayer and give zakah (charity) and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - so an Excellent Protector and an Excellent Helper.

5:66 And if they had stood firmly by the Torah and the Gospel and what was revealed to them from their Lord, surely they would have eaten from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them is a moderate community, but many of them - evil is what they do.

(Muslims follow the Law)(Jesus / the Gospel did not abrogate the Law, but confirmed it; Matthew 5:17 says, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them”; according to James 2:14-26, “faith without works is dead”; according to Matthew 23:2-3, “the teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.”; according to Acts 15:5 and 15:20, early Christians followed the Law))(Allah knows best)

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

19:34 That was Jesus, the son of Mary, a statement of truth about which they dispute. 19:35 It is not for Allah to take a son. Glory be to Him, when He decrees a matter, then He only says to it, "Be" and it is. 19:36 "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."

(God’s Messengers would never call themselves “son of God” because God has no son/s. The Bible confirms that Jesus never said that he was the son of God: the Aramaic name “Barabbas” literally means “son of the father”. Ancient manuscripts of Matthew 27:16-17 have the name “Jesus Barabbas”, not just “Barabbas” (See the translations that are more faithful to those ancient manuscripts: “New International Version” or “Contemporary English Version”, or “Good News Translation”, or “Net Bible”). According to the Bible, Pilate, the governor of Judea, asked the crowd which prisoner was to be released “Jesus son of the father (Barabbas), or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” (Matthew 27:17). So, the conclusion is that the New Testament explicitly says that there were two characters bearing the same name (Jesus). It seems that Christians mixed stories of the two characters; Jesus Barabbas blasphemed by bearing such a name, “the son of father (referring to God)”, because God does not beget, and He is One; on the other hand, Jesus the Messiah never said that he was the son of God, because the words “Barabbas / son of the father” and “Messiah / son of Mary” are used to distinguish one Jesus from the other)(See the link below “Jesus the Messiah” vs. “Jesus Barabbas”)(Allah knows best)

5:73 They have certainly disbelieved, those who say, "Indeed, Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except the One God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, a painful punishment will surely afflict those who disbelieved among them.

(The Bible does not mention the word “trinity”, so it is an invented concept)(Allah knows best)

5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who said, "Indeed, Allah, He is the Messiah, the son of Mary." Say, "Then who has the power against Allah in anything if He intends to destroy the Messiah, the son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on the earth?" And for Allah is the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between both of them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is on everything All-Powerful.

(Jesus is not God (e.g. Jesus prayed to God, etc.). See the link below “Is Jesus God or the son of God?”)(Allah knows best)

19:16 And mention in the Book Mary, when she withdrew from her family to an eastern place. 19:17 Then she took a screen (hijab/veil) from them. Then We sent to her Our Spirit, then he appeared to her in the likeness of a well-proportioned man.

(Muslims wear hijab/veil, as Mary did)(Allah knows best)

3:43 "O Mary, be obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow down with those who bow down."

(Muslims bow and prostrate in prayer. This is supported in the Bible (Genesis 43:28, Deuteronomy 9:25, 2 Samuel 1:2, 2 Samuel 9:6, etc.))(Allah knows best)

2:183 O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, so that you may become righteous.

(According to the Bible, Jesus fasted. Muslims fast too)(Allah knows best)

9:31 They have taken their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, son of Mary, as Lords besides Allah. And they were not commanded except to worship One God. There is no god except Him. Glory be to Him from what they associate.

(Jesus did not follow any rabbi, monk or Pope. But Christians follow Paul and other Christians’ inventions)(See the link below, “Jesus vs. Paul”)(Allah knows best)

5:72 They certainly disbelieve who say, "Indeed Allah - He is the Messiah, the son of Mary." While the Messiah said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates partners with Allah, then surely Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode will be the Fire. And there will be no helpers for the wrongdoers.

4:171 O People of the Book, do not commit excess in your religion and do not say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Glory be to Him, that He (should) have a son for Him. To Him whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

5:116 And when Allah said, "O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, "Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?" He said, "Glory be to You, it was not for me to say what I had no right. If I had said it, then surely You would have known it. You know what is in myself, and I do not know what is in Yourself. Indeed, You, You are All-Knower of the unseen.

(Catholics took Mary as god. Jesus never did it. It is forbidden in Islam)(Allah knows best)

3:49 And a Messenger to the Children of Israel, "Indeed, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord - that I design for you from clay like the form of the bird, then I breath into it and it becomes a bird by the permission of Allah. And I cure the blind, and the leper, and I give life to the dead by the permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed, in that is surely a sign for you, if you are believers.

(Verse 3:49 says about Jesus “I cure”, “I design”, “I breath”, “I give life”. So, Jesus performed Signs, as “a sign from your Lord” (3:49) and “by the permission of God” (3:49). So, if God had not given it to Jesus, then there would be no Sign at all, and if God was not to give permission, then there would be no Sign at all, then the performer (Jesus) is “irrelevant”, because Jesus can not be given a sign on his own. Other messengers came with Signs. Because a human performed it, it does not make him a deity)(Allah knows best)

3:59 Indeed, the likeness of Jesus with Allah is like the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.

(The miraculous birth of Jesus does not make him a deity. Adam was created likewise)(Allah knows best)

61:14 O you who believe, be helpers of Allah, as said Jesus, son of Mary, to the disciples, "Who are my helpers for Allah?" The disciples said, "We are the helpers of Allah." Then a group of Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy and they became dominant.

(In Islam, there is fighting, and it is done in self-defense and against oppression. On the other hand, the concept “turning the other cheek” contradicts other verses in the Bible, so Jesus might have never said about turning the other cheek)(There are verses in the current Gospel in the sense of violence: according to Matthew 10:34, Jesus said “do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword”; according to Luke 22:36, Jesus said “And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one”; according to Luke 14:26, Jesus said “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple”; according to Luke 19:27, Jesus told a violent parable “but those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me”)(The sentence “love your enemies” (Matthew 5:44) could also imply that they love/support Satan. See below the article, “Does Jesus love you? Does Jesus love his enemies?”)(It also has to be considered that Jesus did not write the current Gospel but is anonymous and was written in Greek instead of Aramaic (the language of Jesus), and the oldest Bibles differ from the modern or current ones, so it is not a reliable source. For example, Matthew 5:44 was changed by man, because while “love your enemies” was written in the oldest Bible (Codex Vaticanus and Sinaiticus), two new sentences were added in the current Bible (“bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you”), as if there was an intention, by people, of making/changing the Scripture that way. See below “Is the Bible corrupted?”)(Allah knows best)
