Does the New Testament abrogate the Old Testament?

Does the New Testament abrogate the Old Testament?

5:46 And on their footsteps We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming what was before him of the Torah, and We gave him the Gospel, in it was Guidance and light and confirming what was before him of the Torah and a Guidance and an admonition for the God conscious.

(The Gospel does not abrogate the Torah but confirms it (5:46). This is also supported in the New Testament: according to James 2:14-26 “faith without works is dead”; according to Matthew 5:17, Jesus confirmed the Law “do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them”; according to Matthew 23:2-3, “the teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.”; according to Acts 15:5 and 15:20, early Christians followed the Law)(Allah knows best)

3:50 And confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and so that I make lawful for you some of that which was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me. 3:51 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path."

(There is no contradiction between Verses 3:50 and 5:46 (both about Jesus), because, on one hand, the Gospel confirms the Torah, on the other hand, some of that which was forbidden is made lawful, but this is explained in Verse 4:160, the law was more severe for the Jews before, because of their wrongdoing (e.g., they have to follow the religion of Abraham (16:123), so they have to leave trade on Friday, but Jews differed in it (16:124), so they were burdened with the Sabbath (16:124))(On the other hand, both Verses say “of the Torah / mina l-tawrati”, which implies that it does not refer to the whole Torah, but only that which was confirmed)(Allah knows best)

4:160 Then for the wrongdoing of those who were Jews, We made unlawful for them good things which had been lawful for them, and for their hindering many from the way of Allah.

16:123 Then We revealed to you to follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not of those who associate." 16:124 The Sabbath was only appointed for those who differed in it. And indeed, your Lord will surely judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in that over which they used to differ.

19:30 He said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet. 19:31 And He (has) made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined (upon) me the prayer and zakah, as long as I am alive

(Jesus followed ordinances)(Christians innovated that they would be saved by the grace through faith alone, regardless of their deeds, while according to James 2:14-26 “faith without works is dead”, according to Matthew 5:17, Jesus confirmed the Law, etc.)(The concept of Jesus dying for your sins was invented by Paul. It is not supported by the New Testament (Galatians 6:5), nor by the Old testament (Ezekiel 18:20), nor by the Qur’an (17:15))(See the link below “Jesus vs. Paul”)(Allah knows best)

57:27 Then We sent Our Messengers on their footsteps and We followed with Jesus, son of Mary, and We gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But the monasticism they innovated - We did not prescribe it for them - only seeking the pleasure of Allah, but they did not observe it with right observance. So We gave those who believed among them their reward, but most of them are defiantly disobediently.

(Christians innovated concepts that are not in the Gospel, nor in the Old Testament (e.g. the trinity, monasticism, etc.). Their invented concepts do not abrogate the Old Testament at all)(Allah knows best)

16:115 He has only forbidden to you dead animal, and the blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But if one is forced - without being disobedient, nor a transgressor - then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(According to Christians some verses in the Bible declare all foods clean (e.g. Mark 7:15-20), but it contradicts the Torah, the Gospel itself and the Qur’an. And Mark 7:15-20 could be a parable or allegorical verse, while the clear verses are the ones to be followed (3:7). According to Matthew 13:13 and Luke 8:10 the purpose of the parables is that they may not understand)(Matthew 5:17 says “do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them”, so Mark 7:15-20 did not allow that food which was forbidden in the Torah)(In the Bible, there is no an explicit mention of unlawful meat to be allowed (e.g. it does not explicitly say that pig meat is allowed), but it is an assumption and a misinterpretation)(Even if Mark 7:15-20 were to declare all foods clean, it is said that Jesus did not write the Gospel, but, the Gospel is anonymous, and was written in Greek, instead of Aramaic (the language of Jesus), and the oldest Bible sources and the modern Bible differ with each other, so the Bible is not a reliable source)(The Bible, in Acts 15:29, says “you are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things”. Other verses in that sense: Acts 15:20, Acts 21:25, Exodus 34:15, Revelation 2:20, Deuteronomy 14:21, Leviticus 22:8, etc.)(In regard to pig meat, it is forbidden in Deuteronomy 14:8, Leviticus 11:7-8, Isaiah 66:17, Isaiah 65:2-4, etc.)(Allah knows best)

2:85 Then you are those who kill yourselves and evict a party of you from their homes, you support one another against them in sin and transgression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom; while their eviction was forbidden to you. So do you believe in part of the Book and disbelieve in part? Then what should be the recompense for those who do so among you, except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the most severe punishment? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

2:285 The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His Angels and His Books and His Messengers. "We make no distinction between any of His Messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination."

5:14 And from those who said, Indeed we are Christians," We took their covenant; but they forgot a part of what they were reminded of. So We aroused enmity and hatred between them until the Day of Resurrection. And soon Allah will inform them of what they used to do.

3:7 He is the One Who revealed to you the Book, in it are Verses which are absolutely clear - they are the foundation of the Book, and others are allegorical. Then as for those in whose hearts is perversity - [so] they follow what is allegorical of it, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. And none except Allah knows its interpretation. And those who are firm in knowledge, they say, "We believe in it. All is from our Lord." And not will take heed except men of understanding.

(Matthew 13:13 and Luke 8:10 confirm that the purpose of the parables is that they may not understand. That’s because Jesus was only sent to the Children of Israel. This is supported by Matthew 15:24, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”. According to Matthew 13:34 “Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable”. On the other hand, according to Mark 4:34, Jesus explained everything in private to the (Jewish) disciples, and according to John 18:20, Jesus said nothing in secret in synagogues or at the temple (Jewish places); and according to Matthew 13:36, Jesus explain a parable in private to the (Jewish) disciples. So, one interpretation is that the parables were addressed to non-Jews so that they may not understand. So, Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel (61:14, 43:59, 3:47-50, 5:72, 61:6); and in the Gospel “in it was Guidance and light” (5:46), not “misguidance”; and Jesus came with clear evidences (61:6), to the Children of Israel, not with confusion and unclearness)(Allah knows best)

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(Jesus was only sent to the Children of Israel, and Jews are required to follow the Qur’an because he announced them the coming of Muhammad (61:6))(Jesus was not sent to gentiles. The gentiles must follow the Qur’an as well, because Muhammad was sent to the whole mankind (7:158, 34:28, 3:96, 21:107, 6:19, 36:70), including Jews and Christians)(See the link below “Is Muhammad mentioned in the Bible?”)(Allah knows best)

5:68 Say, "O People of the Book, you are not on anything until you stand firmly by the Torah and the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

(Once the Qur’an was revealed to the people, they must believe in the Qu’ran, so they would use it as a Criterion over previous Scriptures (3:3-4). The people of the Book differed among each other; so Verse 16:64 says, “We have not revealed to you the Book except that you make clear to them that in which they differed, and as a guidance and mercy for a people who believe”)(Verse 5:69 says that Jews and Christians would have no fear, nor will they grieve. This Verse specifies “those who believed”, so Verse 5:69 could refer, for example, to early Christians who were not trinitarians (trinitarians are disbelievers (5:72)), and the early people who did not read or receive the Qur’an, and those who believed in God, the Last Day and did good deeds (2:62). But, now those who reject the Verses of the Qur’an are disbelievers (29:47, 90:19, 2:91, 52:33-34, 46:10, 10:95-97, 23:38-39, 40:70). People is commanded to be of the Muslims (aka Submitted (to God)(6:71))(Allah knows best)

43:13 He has ordained for you of the religion what He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not to be divided therein. Difficult for the polytheists is that to which you call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns.

(Verse 43:13 says that it was ordained in the Qur’an that which was enjoined upon Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus. So Islam is not a new religion, and according to some Verses, “Abrahamic” religions might differ in what Christians and/or Jews concealed (2:146), and in what they forgot (5:13), and in what they distorted (5:13), and in what they were burdened for their wrongdoing (16:124, 4:160), and in what they innovated (57:27), and in following their own desires (5:48), and in committing excess in their religion (4:171), and in their disbelief (5:72-73), etc.)(The Qur’an confirms what God revealed in previous Scriptures, not what God did not reveal (e.g. that which opposes or contradicts the Scriptures))(Allah knows best)

2:75 Do you hope that they will believe you while indeed a party of them (used to) hear the words of Allah, then they distort it after they understood it, while they know?

(For example, the story of the woman caught in adultery in John 7:53-8:11 is not found in Papyrus 66 and Papyrus 75 (late 100s or early 200s), nor in Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus (early/mid 300s); but it is found for the first time in a much later manuscript: in Codex Bezae (400s or 500s). Codex Bezae was made in Europe (Italy, France), so the story could have been invented in Europe by Europeans. They could have invented that story in order to abolish stoning, while stoning is supported in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 21:18-21 and Leviticus 24:16), and is implicitly supported in the New Testament, because Jesus confirmed the Law)(Anyway, the Qur’an does not tell about stoning fornicators, but does not tell about they going unpunished either.
