Is masturbation allowed?

Is masturbation allowed?

23:5 And those who are guardians of their modesty (lifurujihim) 23:6 Except from their spouses (azwajihim) or what (ma) their rights possess / own, then indeed, they are not blameworthy. 23:7 Then whoever seeks (ib’tagha) beyond that, then those are the transgressors.

(The word “furuji” implies to be separated, and implies the private parts, between legs. This Verse is interpreted to be against masturbation, but some people object that you cannot guard your parts from yourself, as if masturbation were allowed, but the Verse is in a context of sexual matters (24:30-31)(so, women are mentioned), rather than a context other than sexual, which might be allowed, for example: you can take a shower and wash your parts, or a doctor might look at your parts, or a maid might undress old people to change their clothes, etc.)(It is interpreted that these Verses prohibit everything, in regard to your private parts (in a sexual sense), except from your spouses or what your rights possess, so masturbation would be forbidden. But some people interpreted that the Verse only prohibits the skin-to-skin contact with other than your spouses or what your rights possess. But, these Verse does not explicitly or implicitly say that “only skin-to-skin” relation is forbidden, and you might have a sinful mind, if you masturbate with other than your spouses or what your rights possess)(Allah knows best)

24:30 Say to the believing men to lower (yaghuddu) their gaze and they should guard their chastity/modesty (furujahum). That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. 24:31 And say to the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity/modesty, and not display their adornment except what is apparent of it. And let them draw their head covers over their bosoms, and not display their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands’ fathers, or their sons, or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or that which their rights possess, or the attendants having no physical desire among men, or children who are not aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah altogether O believers, so that you may succeed. 24:32 And marry (wa-ankihu) the single among you and the righteous among your male slaves, and your female slaves. If they are poor (fuqaraa), Allah will enrich them (yugh’nihimu) from His Bounty (fadlihi). And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. 24:33 And let those who do not find marriage (nikahan) be chaste/refrain (walyasta’fifi) until Allah enriches them (yugh’niyahumu) of His Bounty (fadlihi). And those who seek (yabtaghuna) the writing from among whom you rightfully possess, give them the writing if you know any good in them, and give them from the wealth of Allah, which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution (l-bighai), if they desire chastity (tahassunan), to seek temporary gain of the life of the world. And whoever compels them, then indeed, Allah is, after their compulsion, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(“Spouses (fellow / like)”, “what their rights possess” and “private parts” imply sexuality)(In a sexual sense, you have to guard your private parts, except from “spouses” or what their rights possess, which implies that “everything is prohibited”, in that sense, except your spouses or what their rights possess)(The sentence “what their rights possess” might wrongly suggest that you can use your private parts with women, other than your wive, so it would implicitly suggest that you can masturbate with the pictures and videos you might possess too, as if sex slaves were allowed, while, in fact, “spouses/fellow/like (azwaji)” and “what their rights possess” are two categories of (believing) women, lawful for marriage. The word “azwaji” (spouses) is interpreted as a “kind/type” of women (of your kind or category), while “what your rights possess”, is not of your kind (16:71). Verses 16:71-72 confirm that one of the differences between “spouses” (aka “of your kind”) and what your rights possess, is about provision. Those of your kind are favored, while what your rights possess are not like them in this matter, but in the matter of sexual relations, you have to marry to what your rights possess, lest you commit adultery/fornication, because the Qur’an only tells about marrying what your rights possess (4:24-25, 24:33), rather than being allowed for fornication or adultery. (Notice that the context of Verse 24:30 is that “they should guard their chastity/modesty (furujahum)” (like Verse 23:5), then Verse 24:32 says, “And marry (wa-ankihu) the single among you and the righteous among your male slaves, and your female slaves…”.)(Even if the word “azwaji” is interpreted as “spouses” (husband, wife), it does not imply that other than spouses are allowed for sexual relations, because, the Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other, so according to other Verses, what your rights possess is always about marrying them)(In addition, another point is that in Arabic, it is linguistically correct to say, for example, “In both of them (are) fruits and date-palms and pomegranates” (55:68). It is interpreted that date-palms and pomegranates are mentioned to emphasize these two kinds of fruits, rather than saying that date-palms and pomegranates are not fruits. Another example is that the Qur’an mentions “Angels and the Spirit”, in Verse 97:4, or “His Angels and His Messengers and Gabriel and Michael”, in Verse 2:98, while the Qur’an confirms in other Verses that the Spirit is Gabriel (2:97), and the Spirit is a Messenger (19:17-19, 4:171), and some Verses suggest that the Spirit is an Angel. According to the article, “The Holy Spirit in the Quran” by M. Nader, “In the Arabic language it is not unusual to specify part of a whole group to emphasize the significance of that part”)(It could be objected that these Verses say “and”, while 23:6 says “or”, but the use of the word “or” might be explained by Verse 4:3. It is a matter of order, first orphans, then (free) women (or women of your kind), then one or what you rightfully possess, if you fear that you will not be just (among orphans and women of your kind). This Verse does not imply that you can be unjust with what you rightfully possess, but you marry what you rightfully possess in order to be just, because you like them more than others, so as an alternative to marrying one, two, three or four (free) women)(In other words, you might have only married women of your kind, or you might have only married what you rightfully possess, so one “or” the other are lawful (within marriage))(In addition, Verses 24:30-31 tell about “lowering your gaze”, in a sexual sense, because in other contexts you might look somehow at women or men. After marrying, you can only look at your spouses/fellow/like or what their rights possess (another category for marriage), in a sexual way, so you cannot masturbate using photos and/or videos of women other than your wives)(In addition, Verse 24:32 tells you about marrying slaves (male or female). And Verse 24:33 says, “let those who do not find marriage be chaste/refrain”. So, according to the context, you refrain from marriage if you do not find marriage (24:33), but according to the context, you also guard your private parts, and lower your gaze (24:30-31))(In addition, some Verses only mention “spouses”, when children/offspring are mentioned (25:74), you only have children with spouses (which includes the ones you married among what you rightfully possess, because once you marry them, you are husband or wife), so you only use your private parts with/on your spouses (this time “spouses” is in the context of “the married ones”))(Note: one word might have different meanings, but you only pick one meaning of the word, according to the context of the Verse, and according to that meaning which makes the Verse to be in line with other Verses of the Qur’an)(Notice that women cannot display their adornment except to their husbands or that which their rights possess (24:31), as if that which their rights possess were other than husbands, but the context of the Verse is that their fathers, their brothers, and other non-marriable people can see their adornment, rather than suggesting adultery or fornication among them)(Another point is that prostitution (24:33) is forbidden in Islam. The word “bighai”, translated as “prostitution” refers to “women who do not want to marry, so you cannot force them into marriage”. That’s called prostitution, but the context is forcing women, because the sentence “those who seek the writing” (24:33) uses the word “seek”, which has the same root than the word “prostitution”. So, you cannot compel them to “seeking a husband”)(“Fornication”, “adultery“, “forcing women” or “prostitution” (understood as “act of offering sexual services for a fee”) are forbidden in Islam anyhow. it is forbidden even if she willingly wants to do it, because it is fornication / adultery. So, sexual relations are always in the context of marrying willingly in the Qur’an)(See the link below “Is it allowed in Islam to have relations with maids/slaves without marrying? Is adultery permitted? Are sex slaves allowed in Islam?”)(The root of “furuji” (modesty) is “Fa-Ra-Jiim”, and it means “to open, separate, cleave, split, enlarge, part, let a space between, make a room, an opening, intervening space (gap or breach) between two things; farjun (pl. furuj) – pudenda (sex organ); chastity, space between legs (of horse or mare), part/s of a person (male/female) indecent to expose, external portions of the organs of generation (of a male/female). Also the posterior pudendum because it is a place of opening, of between the legs”)(The root of “azwaji” (spouses) is “Zay-Waw-Jiim”, and it means “to couple / join / pair / unite / wed, marriage, a pair, a fellow or like, spouse”. Another dictionary says that “Z-W-J” means when two or more things or people form a unit. This unit is the unit of marriage or anything that unites them as being very close as to be rarely separate or sharing a common feature”)(“Gh-Dad-Dad” means “lowered”, “contracted”, “lessened” and “restrain”)(The root of “ib’tagha” / “bighai” (seeks / prostitution) is “Ba-Ghayn-Ya”, and it means “sought for or after, desired, endeavored to find and take and get (good or evil); loving or affecting a thing; seeking or endeavoring to act corruptingly, wrongly and/or unjustly, insolent/disobedient; exceeding due bounds or just limits in any way; prostitute or adulteress, unchaste, seeking what one should not seek, etc.”)(The root of “ankihu / nikahan” (marry / marriage) is “Nun-Kaf-Ha”, and it means “to tie, make a knot, contract, to marry, marriage”. According to hussein’s “personalquran”, the root “N-K-Ha” (marry) “means having sex between man and woman through the right channels. That is why it is the word that is used for marriage since marriage involves sex in the right way”)(The root of yasta’fifi” (be chaste/refrain) is “Ayn-Fa-Fa”, and it means “to abstain from what is unlawful, be abstinent, refrain; ta’affuf – modest / abstinence”)(The root of “tahassunan (chastity) is “Ha-Sad-Nun”, and it means “to be guarded, be inaccessible / unapproachable, be chaste, be strongly fortified, difficult to access, be preserved, be protected, abstain from what is not lawful nor decorous, to fortify oneself, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

17:82 And We reveal from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

(Some people and/or communities think that masturbation, having sex slaves and prostitution are ok, while some people and/or communities are against it. People is tested in what God has given (5:48), so the Qur’an is written in a way, which might guide or deviate. There is only one way. A certain matter cannot be right and wrong at the same time, but some people are guided, and some other people are deviated. Verse 39:18 says, “Those who listen to the Word, then follow the best thereof, those are they whom Allah has guided, and those are men of understanding”. The Qur’an explicitly speaks about marrying slaves, prohibits adultery/fornication, tells you about lowering the gaze, protecting private parts, not “desiring/wishing” (12:23-25, 12:30), etc. In addition, even if masturbation were allowed, but you do not masturbate, you refrain seeking the pleasure of Allah, so you could be rewarded observing a matter which was not prescribed (57:27)(though, the context of Verse 57:27 might not refer to masturbation). On the contrary, if masturbation is not allowed and punishable, then those who masturbate would be the losers)(Allah knows best)

2:187 It is permitted for you in the nights of fasting to approach (l-rafathu) to your wives (nisaikum). They are your garments and you are their garments. Allah Knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He turned towards you and He forgave you. So now have relations with them (bashiruhunna) and seek what Allah has ordained for you. And eat and drink until the white thread becomes distinct to you from the black thread of dawn. Then complete the fast till the night. And do not have relations (tubashiruhunna) with them while you are secluded in the masajid. These are the limits (set by) Allah, so do not approach them (taqrabuha). Thus Allah makes clear His verses for the people, so that they may become righteous.

(Verse 2:187 speaks about seeking “what Allah has ordained for you”, and that which is ordained is approaching “to your women” and “have relations with them”. The word “relations” in Arabic implies skin contact)(Masturbation is not explicitly or implicitly ordained in the Qur’an)(The root of “tubashiru” (relations) is “Ba-Shiin-Ra”, and it means “skin / pare / strip / skin contact / epidermis, etc.”)(The root of “rafathu” (approach) is “Ra-Fa-Tha”, and it means “sexual conduct, sex, lie with for sexual relationship, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

2:223 Your wives (nisaukum) (are) a tilth (harthun) for you, so come (to) your tilth (harthakum) when/how/where you wish, and send forth for yourselves. And be conscious (of) Allah and know that you (will) meet Him. And give glad tidings (to) the believers.

(Verse 2:223 orders coming to your women. It is also interpreted that there are no objections on masturbating with your wive)(The root of “harthun” (a tilth) is “Ha-Ra-Thaa”, and it means “to till and sow, cultivate, seek sustenance, work or labour, plough, to examine/look into/scrutinize/investigate, call a thing to mind; harth – gain, acquisition, reward (gain), recompense (gain), seed-produce, what is grown/raised by means of seed/date-stones/planting. A wife or road that is much trodden, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

3:7 He is the One Who revealed to you the Book, in it are Verses which are absolutely clear - they are the foundation of the Book, and others are allegorical. Then as for those in whose hearts is perversity - [so] they follow what is allegorical of it, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. And none except Allah knows its interpretation. And those who are firm in knowledge, they say, "We believe in it. All is from our Lord." And not will take heed except men of understanding. 3:8 "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

(According to Verse 3:7, you have to follow that which is clear)(That which some people say in favor of masturbation is not clear, or clearly wrong)(Allah knows best)

3:135 And those when they did immorality (fahishatan) or wronged themselves - they remember Allah then ask forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive the sins except Allah? And they do not persist in what they did while they know.

(The root of “fahishatan” (immorality) is “Fa-Ha-Shin”, and it means “became excessive / immoderate / enormous / exorbitant / overmuch / beyond measure, foul / bad / evil / unseemly / indecency / abominable, lewd / gross / obscene, committing excess which is forbidden, transgress the bounds / limits, avaricious, adultery / fornication”)(Allah knows best)

4:24 And those women who are married except whom you rightfully possess. The decree of Allah upon you. And lawful to you are beyond these, that you seek them with your wealth desiring chastity (muh’sinina), not lust (musafihina). So (for) what you benefit/ed of it from them, so give them their bridal due (ujurahunna) as an obligation. And there is no sin on you concerning what you mutually agree to, beyond the obligation. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. 4:25 And whoever among you is not able to marry (yankiha) free chaste believing women, then from those whom (ma) your rights possess of believing girls. And Allah knows all about your faith. You are of one another. So marry them (fa-inkihuhunna) with the permission of their family and give them their bridal due (ujurahunna) in a fair manner. Chaste (muh’sanatin), not committing immorality (musafihatin) and not taking secret lovers (akhdanin). Then (fa) if when they are married (uh’sinna), then if they commit adultery (bifahishatin), then their punishment is half of that which is for free chaste women (l-muh’sanati). That is for whoever among you who fears committing sin, and to be patient is better for you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(Forbidden to you (4:23) are those women who are married, except whom you rightfully possess, because if those women are believers, and married to a disbeliever, then their marriage is nullified in Islam (60:10))(That which you rightfully possess is mentioned in the context of marriage, rather than masturbation, or taking secret lovers (4:25), or committing adultery or fornication. And you seek them desiring chastity/guarding, not lust/spilling (4:24). Seeking and desiring them for masturbation is not supported in this Verse. Notice that “lust” (4:24) is also interpreted as spilling)(Another point is that Verse 4:25 says (and Verse 3:193-195) that the believers are “of one another”, while disbelievers are not for you in any sense (e.g. their pictures and videos are not for you either))(The root of “musafihina / musafihatin” (lust / those who commit immorality) is “Siin-Fa-Ha”, and it means “shed/flow, outpoured/spilled, masafihun – one who commits fornication or adultery, take unlawfully (women); saffaha – to work without profit”)(The root of “muh’sinina / “uh’si / muh’sanati”” (desiring chastity / are married / chaste women) is “Ha-Sad-Nun”, and it means “to be guarded, be inaccessible / unapproachable, be chaste, be strongly fortified, difficult to access, be preserved, be protected, abstain from what is not lawful nor decorous, to fortify oneself, etc.”)(The root of “akhdanin” (secret lovers) is “Kh-Dal-Nun”, and it means “to befriend, keep company, associate in secrecy or privacy, to converse / talk with”)(Allah knows best)

4:27 And Allah wishes to accept repentance from you, but those who follow the passions (l-shahawati) wish that you deviate (into) a great deviation.

(In addition to Verses 4:24-25, Verse 4:27 implies that following the passions/lust is a deviation)(The root of “shahawati” (passions) is “Shiin-ha-Ya / Shiin-ha-Waw”, and it means “to long or desire eagerly, made it to be good / sweet / pleasant or the like, loved it or wished for it, desired eagerly / intensely, yearning of the soul for a thing; appetite, lust, gratification of venereal lust, etc.”)(The root “Shiin-ha-Waw”, in Verse 7:81, is in the context of homosexuality)(Allah knows best)

4:31 If you avoid great (sins), which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your evil deeds and We will admit you to a noble entrance. 4:32 And do not covet (tatamannaw) for that by which Allah has bestowed (faddala) [with it] some of you over others. For men is a share of what they earned (ik’tasabu), and for women is a share of what they earned (ik’tasabna). And ask Allah of His Bounty (fadlihi). Indeed, Allah is All-Knower of everything.

(Verse 4:31 says, “avoid great (sins), which you are forbidden”. Some people object that masturbation is not explicitly forbidden in the Qur’an, but the next Verse says “do not covet”. The word “covet” implies “wish or desire” in Arabic)(The sentence “If you avoid great (sins), which you are forbidden” (4:31) might suggest that only that which is explicitly forbidden is considered “great” sin, as if it were to allow masturbation, while, in fact, other than lowering the gaze and guarding “between legs” is explicitly forbidden (24:30))(The root of “tatamanna” (covet) is “Miim-Nun-Ya”, and it means “to try or to prove someone, to mediate, to wish or desire”)(The root of “fadli” (Bounty) is “Fa-Dad-Lam”, and it means “excel, distinguish, surpass, superior, gain/gift, bestow benefit / bounty / favour / grace”)(Allah knows best)

4:82 Then do they not ponder on the Qur’an? If it had been from other than Allah, surely they would have found much contradiction in it. 4:83 And when there comes to them a matter about security or fear, they spread it. But if they had referred it to the Messenger and to those having authority among them, the ones who draw correct conclusions from it would surely have known it. And if not (for) the favor of Allah upon you and His Mercy, you would surely have followed Satan, except for a few.

(Most scholars say that masturbation is forbidden. Interpreting that masturbation is allowed might somehow contradict the explicit prohibition of adultery and fornication, and might contradict “to lower your gaze” (24:30-31), and “guard your chastity/modesty/private parts” (24:30-31), and “refraining” (24:33), and not desiring or wishing (12:24, 12:30))(Allah knows best)

4:107 And do not argue for those who deceive themselves. Indeed, Allah does not love (the one) who is treacherous (and) sinful.

4:119 "And I will surely mislead them and surely arouse desires in them, and I will surely order them so they will surely cut off the ears of the cattle and I will surely order them so they will surely change the creation of Allah." And whoever takes Satan as a friend besides Allah, then surely he (has) lost a manifest loss.

5:3 Are made unlawful for you the dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which is dedicated to other than Allah, and that which is strangled, and that which is fatally hit, and that which has a fatal fall, and that which is gored by horns, and that which ate the wild animal except what you slaughtered, and that which is sacrificed on stone altars, and that you seek division by divining arrows - that is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of your religion; so do not fear them, but fear Me. This day I have perfected your religion for you and I have completed My Favor upon you, and I have approved for you Islam as a religion. But whoever is forced by hunger with no inclination to sin, then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 5:4 They ask you what is made lawful for them. Say, "Lawful for you are the good things (l-tayibatu) and what you have taught of hunting animals, ones who train animals to hunt, you teach them of what Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah on it, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is swift in taking account. 5:5 This day good things (l-tayibatu) are made lawful for you; and (wa) (the) food of those who were given the Book is lawful for you, and (wa) your food (is) lawful for them. And chaste women (wal-muh’sanatu) from the believers and chaste women (wal-muh’sanatu) from those who were given the Book before you, when you have given them their bridal due, being chaste (muh’sinina), not being lewd (musafihina), nor ones (who are) taking secret lovers (akhdanin). And whoever denies the faith - then surely his deeds are wasted and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

(Some people use Verses about food (5:3-4, 2:173, 3:93-94), as if it were in favor of masturbation, but the context is only about eating food, rather than allowing masturbation. For example, these sentences are only about food: “whoever is forced by hunger with no inclination to sin” (5:3); “whoever is forced, without (being) disobedient, nor transgressor, then there is no sin on him” (2:173))(In regard to Verses 5:4-5, it says “lawful for you are the good things”. So, the bad things are not lawful (Disbelievers are not lawful, so their pictures and videos are not a good thing either). Seeking adultery/fornication is not a good thing. In addition, Verse 5:5 speaks about marrying, and not being lewd/spilling, nor taking secret lovers. Not even with those who were given the Book before (5:5))(The root of “musafihina” is “Siin-Fa-Ha”, and it means “to shed / flow, outpoured / spilled; musafihun – one who commits fornication or adultery, take unlawfully (women)”)(The root of “muh’sinina / muh’sanatu” (chaste) is “Ha-Sad-Nun”, and it means “to be guarded, be inaccessible / unapproachable, be chaste, be strongly fortified, difficult to access, to fortify oneself, etc.”)(The root of “akhdanin” (secret lovers”) is “Kh-Dal-Nun”, and it means “to befriend, keep company, associate in secrecy or privacy, to converse/talk with”)(The root of “tayibatu” (good things) is “Tay-Ya-Ba”, and it means “to be good, pleasant, agreeable, lawful; tibna – of their (women’s) own free will and being good (to you); tuuba – joy, happiness, an enviable state of bliss; tayyib – good / clean / wholesome / gentle / excellent / fair / lawful”)(Allah knows best)

5:76 Say, "Do you worship besides Allah that which has no power to (cause) you any harm and nor any benefit, while Allah, He (is) the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing? 5:77 Say, "O People of the Book, do not exceed in your religion other than the truth, and do not follow the desires (ahwaa) of a people who certainly went astray before, and they misled many, and they have strayed from the right way.

(The word “desires” (5:77) also implies “fancies”. The word “fancy” is defined as “create imaginary images, imagine, think, illusion, idea, created to please, etc.”. Pornography, artificial intelligence porn, and porn comics and cartoons (e.g. hentai) come from someone’s imagination and fantasy)(The root of “ahwaa” (desires) is “ha-Waw-Ya”, and it means “yearn, fancy, beguile, infatuate, inspire with low passion, desires/fancies, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

5:87 O you who believe, do not make unlawful good things (tayyibati), which (ma) Allah has made lawful for you, and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not love the transgressors. 5:88 And eat what Allah has provided for you – lawful, good. And fear Allah, the One you are believers in Him.

(Some people object that you cannot make unlawful something that is not explicitly forbidden, but Verse 5:87 says that “do not make unlawful good things, which Allah has made lawful for you”. Masturbation has not explicitly been made lawful, and is not considered a good thing, if other than your wives are involved)(The root of “tayyibati” (good things) is “Tay-Ya-Ba”, and it means, “to be good, pleasant, agreeable, lawful; tibna – of their (women’s) own free will and being good (to you); tuuba – joy, happiness, an enviable state of bliss; tayyib – good / clean / wholesome / gentle / excellent / fair / lawful”)(The root of “razaqa” (provided) is “Ra-Zay-Qaf”, and it means “to provide, supply, bestow, means of subsistence; rizq – bounty, gift, portion/share, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

6:43 Then why, when Our punishment came to them, they did not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened and Satan made fair-seeming to them what they used to do.

6:145 Say, "I do not find in what has been revealed to me (anything) forbidden to an eater who eats it except that it be dead or blood poured forth or the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is filth - or (it be) disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is compelled neither desiring nor transgressing, then indeed, your Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

(The context of this Verse is food)(Allah knows best)

6:150 Say, "Bring forward your witnesses, those who testify that Allah prohibited this." Then if they testify, then (do) not testify with them. And (do) not follow (the) desires (of) those who denied Our Signs and those who (do) not believe in the Hereafter, while they set up equals with their Lord. 6:151 Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. That do not associate anything with Him, and be good to parents, and do not kill your children (out) of poverty, We provide for you and for them. And do not go near immoralities (l-fawahisha) what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul, which Allah has forbidden except by right. That (He) has enjoined on you with it, so that you may use reason."

(Verse 6:151 mentions that which is forbidden. The Verse mentions the word “l-fawahisha” (the abominable acts/the ugly words or deeds). According to “my personal Qur’an” by Hussein, the root “F-Ha-SH” means, “the ugly word or deed or any word or deed that has exceeded the border of decency and appropriateness. The term is often used related to sexual acts, but it is not limited to it”. So, it is pointing sexual act, but may include other things. And the Verse mentions “what is apparent of them and what is concealed”. “Apparent” implies the back, and “on top” since the back of the animal is the top of the animal and so on. While “concealed” implies “hidden”. “Conceptually it takes the meaning according to the plane of thought and carries the meaning of the real stomach or anything inside including secrets and so forth. It is also the action of being hidden or internalized happened by the subject”)(So, the sinful deed which is a secret, or hidden, or internalized is forbidden too)(Allah knows best)

7:32 Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment (from) Allah which He has brought forth for His slaves, and the pure things of sustenance?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the life of the world, exclusively (for them) (on the) Day of Resurrection. Thus We explain the Signs for (the) people who know." 7:33 Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immorality (l-fawahisha) - what is apparent of it and what is concealed, and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down any authority, and that you say about Allah what you do not know."

7:28 And when they do immorality they say, "We found our forefathers on it, and Allah has ordered us of it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality (fahishatan). Do you say about Allah what you do not know?"

(Verse 7:28 is clear, “Indeed, Allah does not order immorality”)(Allah knows best)

7:148 And the people of Moses took, after him, from their ornaments an image (jasadan) of a calf, which [for] it (had) a lowing sound. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to a way? They took it and they were wrongdoers. … 7:152 Indeed, those who took the calf, will reach them the wrath from their Lord, and humiliation in the life of the world. And thus We recompense the ones who invent.

(It could be objected that the images of women in your computer or camera, or the comics and cartoons are not real women, but just images or objects in your computer or camera. But Verse 7:148 mentions “an image of a calf” which is called “calf” in Verse 7:152. So, an image or cartoon of a woman may be called “woman” too)(Verse 17:14 says, "Read your record. Sufficient (is) yourself against you today (as) accountant.". So, the videos and photos show the reality of people)(And, according to the context, “whom (ma) you rightfully possess” are real people, lawful for marriage, in the Qur’an, rather than “objects” for masturbation, or fornication)(In addition, the Qur’an tells about lowering your gaze and guarding your private parts, from “everything”, except real people that is with you (spouses/like or whom you rightfully possess))(Allah knows best)

7:157 Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to the right and forbids them from the wrong, and he makes lawful for them the pure things (l-tayibati) and makes unlawful for them the impure things and he relieves them of their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believe in him, and honor him, and help him and follow the light, which has been sent down with him, those are the successful ones."

(The root of “tayibati” (pure things) is “Tay-Ya-Ba”, and it means “to be good, pleasant, agreeable, lawful; tibna – of their (women’s) own free will and being good (to you); tuuba – joy, happiness, an enviable state of bliss; tayyib – good / clean / wholesome / gentle / excellent / fair / lawful”)(Allah knows best)

7:176 And if We willed, surely We could have raised him with these but he adhered to the earth and followed his desires (hawahu). So his example is like the example (of) the dog, if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue or if you leave him, he lolls out his tongue. That is the example of the people who denied Our Signs. So relate the story so that they may reflect.

(The root of “hawa” (desires) is “ha-Waw-Ya” and it means “desires / fancies, rev, perish, pull down, destroy, disappear, infatuate, yearn, beguile, be blown, inspire with low passion, to fall steep as a bird to its prey.”)(Allah knows best)

7:189 He is the One Who created you from a single soul and made from it its mate (zawjaha) that he might live with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues with it. But when she grows heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, "If You give us a righteous, we will surely be among the thankful."

10:59 Say, "Have you seen what Allah has sent down for you of the provision, and you have made of it unlawful and lawful?" Say, "Has Allah permitted you or do you invent against Allah?"

(The context of the Verse is about what God has sent down)(On the other hand, pornography, or nudity stuff are made by people. It should have never been made, in the first place)(Allah knows best)

10:60 And what will be the assumption of those who invent lies against Allah on the Day of Judgment? Indeed, Allah is surely Full of Bounty to mankind, but most of them are not grateful.

12:23 And she, in whose house he was, sought (warawadathu) to seduce him. And she closed the doors and she said, "Come on you." He said, "I seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, he is my lord, Who has made good my stay. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed." 12:24 And certainly she did desire (hammat) him, and he would have desired (wahamma) her, if he had not seen the proof of his Lord. Thus, that We might avert (linasrifa) from him evil and immorality (wal-fahshaa). Indeed, he was of Our sincere slaves. 12:25 And they both raced to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back, and they both found her husband at the door. She said, "What is the recompense (of one) who intended (arada) evil for your wife except that he be imprisoned or a painful punishment?" … 12:33 He said, "My Lord, the prison is dearer to me than that to which they invite me. And unless You turn away their plot from me, I might incline towards them and be of the ignorant."

(In regard to Chapter 12, she desired a skin-to-skin relation, but he did not even desire/think about it, and he was averted from evil and immorality. Another point is that sex slavery is not supported in the Qur’an. So, the fact that she “possessed” him did not imply that she can have sexual relations with him)(It could be objected that she was married, and she can only have one man, while men can have more than one woman. The answer to the objection is that men can only have four “wives” (4:3), rather than sex slaves, which is not supported in the Qur’an)(The root of “hamma” is ha-Miim-Miim”, and it meansto worry / regard / care, concern, ponder anything in one’s mind, desire, meditate, think about, anxious, plot against, intend, purpose, etc.)(The root of “arada” (12:25) and “rawadat” (12:23) is “Ra-Waw-Dal”, and it means “to seek, search (for food), go round about; rawada – desire, seduce, entice, seduce against the will; yuridu – he wishes, intends, etc.”)(The root of “nasrifa” is “Sad-Ra-Fa”, and it means “to turn away, divert, avert, set forth, propound, etc.)(Allah knows best)

12:30 And the women in the city said, "The wife of Aziz (is) seeking to seduce (turawidu) her slave boy; indeed, he has impassioned her (shaghafaha) (with) love (hubban). Indeed, we surely see her in clear error."

(Liking / wishing / loving / having an object of love, other than your husband or wife, is “clear error”)(The root of “turawidu” (seeking to seduce) is “Ra-Waw-Dal”, and it means “to seek, ask a thing gently, search (for food); rawada – to long after, desire, seduce, entice, seduce against the will; yuridu – he wishes, intends, etc.”)(The root of “shaghafa” (he has impassioned) is “Shiin-Gh-Fa”, and it means “to affect deeply, affect in the heart’s core, inspire (with violent love); shaghfun – bottom of the heart, pericardium; shaghaf – passionate love”)(The root of “hubban” (love) is “Ha-Ba-Ba”, and it means “to be loved/beloved, affected/liked/approved, be an object of love, lovely/pleasing/charming, take pleasure in a thing. To love, like, wish, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

60:10 O you who believe, when the believing women come to you as emigrants, then examine them. Allah is most knowing of their faith. And if you know them to be believers, then do not return them to the disbelievers. They are not lawful for them, nor are they lawful for them. And give them what they have spent. And there is no blame upon you if you marry them when you have given them their (bridal) dues. And do not hold to marriage bonds (bi’isami) with disbelieving women, and ask (wasalu) for what you have spent, and let them ask for what they have spent. That is the Judgment of Allah. He judges between you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. 60:11 And if any of your wives have gone from you to the disbelievers, then your turn comes, then give (to) those whose wives have gone (the) like (of) what they had spent. And fear Allah (in) Whom you (are) believers [in Him]. … 60:13 O you who believe, do not make allies (tatawallaw) of a people upon whom is Allah's Wrath. Indeed, they despair of the Hereafter as the disbelievers despair of the companions of the graves.

(Some people think that it is ok having disbelieving sexual slaves, or that it is also ok their photos or videos for masturbation, as if their disbelief were to allow fornication/adultery for you, but Verses 12:23-25, 12:33, 60:10, 33:28, 66:2 and 66:5 suggest that there should not be any sexual purpose towards them, but you have to release them, because there are no sexual slaves in Islam. Disbelieving men are unlawful (60:10))(The root of “isami” (marriage bonds) is “Ayn-Sad-Miim”, and it means “to protect / defend / preserve / abstain / save, hold fast, formally seek refuge; ismatun – defence, guardianship, prevention, immunity from sin, chastity; ‘isama: bonds, ties, preventions, preservations (of marriage), etc.”. So, you cannot “hold” disbelievers or they cannot be under your guardianship. Another dictionary says that “Ain-Sad-M” means “protecting or protection. One of the meanings of the word is “the rope that one holds his animal with to protect against going astray or the rope one holds onto to protect him from raging water or wind)(The root of “tatawalla” (allies) is “Waw-Lam-Ya”, and it means “to be close, near, follow, be up to, direction of following”)(Allah knows best)

12:32 She said, "That (is) the one about whom you blamed me. And I certainly sought to seduce him, but he saved himself (fa-is’ta’sama), and if he does not do what I order him, surely, he will be imprisoned and certainly will be of those who are disgraced.”

(It could be objected that Verses 12:32 and 60:10 use a word with the same root (“Ayn-Sad-Miim”), and one Verse says about “holding” and the other one about “not holding”, as if there were a contradiction, but there is no contradiction. In Verse 60:10 you do not hold disbelieving women, so they do not have the “protection that makes a person immune to dangers or negative influences”, on the other hand, the context of Verse 12:32 is that Joseph “held himself / protected himself” from that danger or negative influence (in other words, he protected himself from relations outside marriage, whether she is a believer or disbeliever). In addition, Verse 60:10 says, about those disbelieving women, “and ask for what you have spent, and let them ask for what they have spent”, which might suggest that you are leaving them, rather than allowing a sexual purpose. This interpretation is supported by a previous sentence in Verse 60:10, “do not return them to the disbelievers. They are not lawful for them, nor are they lawful for them. And give them what they have spent”)(Another point is that you only pick one meaning of the word, according to the context of the Verse, and according to that meaning which makes the Verse to be in line with other Verses of the Qur’an. So, the context of Verse 12:32 might be about protecting/saving himself from sexual relations outside marriage, while the context of 60:10 is not explicitly about sexual relations, but it might be about you not holding women in protection in general (e.g. if you are married, you have to divorce her))(This interpretation of Verse 60:10 might be supported by other Verses of the Qur’an: Verse 9:67 says, “The hypocrite men and the hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin the wrong and forbid what is right” (Note: the hypocrite women are not for you). Verse 9:71 says, “the believing men and the believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong”. Verse 2:36 says, “Then Satan made (both of) them slip out of it, and he got (both of) them out from that in which they (both) were. And We said, "Go down (all of you), as enemies to one another” (Note: followers of Satan are enemies). Verse 3:195 says, “Indeed, I will not let go waste the deeds of the doer among you, whether male or female; you are of one another”. Verse 2:221 says, “do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing bondwoman is better than a polytheistic woman, even if she pleases you. And do not give in marriage to polytheistic men until they believe, and a believing bondman is better than a polytheistic man, even if he pleases you. They invite to the Fire, and Allah invites to Paradise and forgiveness by His permission”. Verse 24:3 says, “The fornicator (will) not marry except a fornicatress, or a polytheist woman, and the fornicatress - (will) not marry except a fornicator or a polytheist man. And that is forbidden to the believers”. (Note: you have to divorce polytheistic women and fornicatress, lest you be like them). Verse 5:2 says, “help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression” (Note: the Qur’an does not say that you have to help a disbeliever in sin and transgression, but you have to invite to the religion (12:108, 22:67, 28:87, 2:221 (only disbelievers invite to the fire, while believers invite to that which is right))(Allah knows best)

33:28 O Prophet, say to your wives, "If you desire the life of the world and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and release you with a good release. … 66:2 Indeed, Allah has ordained for you the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your Protector, and He is the All-Knower, the All-Wise. … 66:5 Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you, He will substitute for him wives better than you - submissive, faithful, obedient, repentant, who worship, who fast, previously married and virgins.

(If wives are no longer submissive, faithful, obedient, repentant, who worship, who fast (66:5), then they are to be divorced (66:2) and released (33:28), rather than retained as sexual slaves)(Allah knows best)

15:88 (Do) not extend your eyes towards what We have bestowed (matta’na) with it (to) categories (azwajan) of them, and (do) not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers.

16:114 So eat of what Allah has provided you lawful and good. And be grateful for the Favor of Allah, if Him Alone you worship. 16:115 He has only forbidden to you dead animal, and the blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But if one is forced - without being disobedient, nor a transgressor - then indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 16:116 And do not say about what your tongues assert, a lie, "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so that you invent a lie about Allah. Indeed, those who invent a lie about Allah, they will not succeed. 16:117 An little enjoyment, and for them (is) a painful punishment. 16:118 And to those who are Jews We have forbidden that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them, but they used (to) wrong themselves.

17:32 And do not go near (taqrabu) adultery/fornication (l-zina). Indeed, it is an immorality (fahishatan) and an evil way.

(The word “near” could imply going “near in affection” (5:82), so it might not only refer to a physical issue)(The meaning of the word “zina” (adultery/fornication) also implies “mounting”. In masturbation the mounting might be committed in your mind/imagination, so it might not be a good thought)(The root of “l-zina” (adultery/fornication) is “Zay-Nun-Ya”, and it means “to mount, the mounting upon a thing, to commit fornication / adultery, fornicator / adulterer”)(The root of “taqrabu” (go near) is “Qaf-Ra-Ba”, and it means “to be near to, approach, be near in relationship or rank, be at hand, draw near; qurbatun – proximity, means of drawing nigh, kindred, relationship; qaribun – near at hand (either in time or place), etc.”)(Allah knows best)

19:59 Then succeeded after them successors who neglected the prayer and they followed the lusts (l-shahawati), so soon they will meet evil 19:60 Except (one) who repented and believed and did good (deeds). Then those will enter Paradise, and they will not be wronged (in) anything.

(The root of “shahawati” (lusts) is “Shiin-ha-Ya / Shiin-ha-Waw”, and it means “to long or desire eagerly, made it to be good / sweet / pleasant or the like, loved it or wished for it, desired eagerly / intensely, yearning of the soul for a thing; appetite, lust, gratification of venereal lust, greedy, voracious, was or became like him, resembling him, jested or joked with him, etc.”)(“Shiin-ha-Ya” might not be bad in itself, as long as it is lawful, so it depends on the context (3:14, 43:71). The context is not always about sexuality. For example, in verse 7:81, you cannot approach men with “desire”, instead of women, etc.)(Allah knows best)

20:131 And do not extend your eyes towards that (by) which (ma) We have given enjoyment (matta’na) with it, (to) pairs (azwajan) of them, the splendor of the life of the world, by which We may test them. And (wa) the provision (wariz’qu) of your Lord is better and more lasting. 20:132 And enjoin prayer on your family and be steadfast therein. We do not ask you for provision (riz’qan); We provide for you (narzuquka), and the outcome is for the righteous.

(It is interpreted that the enjoyment/splendor, in Verse 20:131, is addressed to “pairs/spouses/wedded of/from them”. The spouses have wealth, in order to marry, and they have children. Verse 8:28 says, “And know that your wealth and your children are a trial. And that, with Allah is a great reward.”. And Verse 9:55 says, “So let not their wealth and their children impress you”)(The root of “azwajan” (pairs) is “Zay-Waw-Jiim”, and it means “to couple / join / pair / unite / wed, marriage, a pair, a fellow or like, spouse”)(The root of “riz’qu” (provision) is “Ra-Zay-Qaf”, and it means “to provide, supply, bestow, grant, means of subsistence, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

22:30 That, and whoever honors the sacred rites of Allah, then it is best for him near his Lord. And are made lawful to you the cattle except what is recited to you. So avoid the abomination of idols and avoid the false word.

(The context is meat)(Allah knows best)

24:2 The adulteress/fornicatress and the adulterer/fornicator, flog each of them with hundred lashes. And (let) not withhold you pity for them concerning the religion of Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment. 24:3 The fornicator (will) not marry (yankihu) except a fornicatress, or a polytheist woman, and the fornicatress - (will) not marry except a fornicator or a polytheist man. And that is forbidden to the believers. 24:4 And those who accuse chaste women, then they do not bring four witnesses, then flog them with eighty lashes and never accept their testimony. And those, they are the defiantly disobedient,

(The fornicators (implying two persons) are punished in this world (24:2). On the other hand, those who commit adultery/fornication are doubled punished on the Day of Resurrection (25:68-69))(If fornicators and fornicatress are forbidden to the believers for marriage (which prevents you from sexual relations with them), it would suggest that they are not ok for masturbation either)(Note: hussein’s “personalquran” says that the root “N-K-Ha” (marry) “means having sex between man and woman through the right channels. That is why it is the word that is used for marriage since marriage involves sex in the right way”)(Using the definition of “N-K-Ha” (marry), from Hussein’s dictionary, then it could be interpreted that “having sex” with an adulteress / fornicatress also makes you to be an adulterer / fornicator (24:2-3). In addition, Verse 24:3 says, “that is forbidden to the believers”)(It could be objected that cartoons or sex dolls are not “polytheist” like the ones mentioned in Verse 24:3, but according to Verses 70:29-30, you can only use your private parts with “real” and believing people mentioned in Verse 70:30, rather than using lifeless images, based on women, for masturbation)(Allah knows best)

33:49 O you who believe, when you marry (nakahtumu) believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, then there is not for you any waiting period to count concerning them. So provide for them and release them with a good release.

(According to Verse 33:49, the root “N-K-Ha” (marry) does not always imply “having sex”, but you might be married, and you might have not touched her)(In masturbation, you might also not touch her, but you have sex in your mind, so “not touching” might not imply that he did not masturbate either)(Nevertheless, touching (fornicatress) women in your mind, for masturbation, might not be a good thought, so that you might be a fornicator, like them, as well (24:3))(It could be objected that Verse 33:49 suggests that “not touching” is not bad or less bad than “touching”, as if masturbation were ok, but the context of the Verse is that they are married, rather than fornicators or fornicating in your mind)(Allah knows best)

24:26 Evil women are for evil men, and evil men are for evil women. And good women are for good men, and good men are for good women. Those are innocent of what they say. For them (is) forgiveness and a noble provision.

(It could be objected that cartoon, ai images, etc., are not evil men or women, because they are not real people, with thoughts or feelings, but Verse 24:26 specifies that good women is for you, rather than disbelievers’ fantasy women. In addition, everything is forbidden (in regard to your private parts), except with “real people” mentioned in Verse 23:5-6)(On the other hand, the cartoon, ai images, etc., are based or inspired on real people that are not for you)(Allah knows best)

24:19 Indeed, those who like that immorality (l-fahishatu) (should) spread among those who believe, for them is a painful punishment in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows, while you do not know.

24:60 And postmenopausal among the women who (do) not have desire (yarjuna) (for) marriage, then (there) is no blame on them that they put aside their (outer) garments, not displaying their adornment. And (wa) that they modestly refrain (yasta’fif’na) (is) better for them. And Allah (is) All-Hearer, All-Knower.

(The root of “yasta’fifi” (translated as “modestly refrain”) is “Ayn-Fa-Fa”, and it means “to abstain from what is unlawful, be abstinent, refrain; ta’affuf – modest / abstinence”)(The root of “yarju” (desire) is “Ra-Jiim-Waw”, and it means “to hope/expect, keep awaited, put aside, defer/delay, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

25:54 And He is the One Who has created from water human being and has made for him blood relationship (nasaban) and marriage relationship (wasih’ran). And your Lord is All-Powerful.

(There is no a relationship other than blood and marriage relationships)(The root of “sih’ran” (marriage relationship) is “Sad-ha-Ra”, and it means “melt, relationship, nearness with respect to kindred, the sacred or inviolable, tie of relationship by marriage, etc.”)(The root of “nasaban” (blood relationship) is “Nun-Siin-Ba”, and it means “to give or ask one’s genealogy, ask the pedigree or linage of, kinship, relationship”)(Allah knows best)

25:73 And those who, when they are reminded of (the) Verses (of) their Lord, (they do) not fall upon them deaf and blind. 25:74 And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us a leader for the righteous." 25:75 Those will be awarded the Chamber because they were patient, and they will be met therein (with) greetings and peace.

25:68 And those who do not invoke with Allah another god, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right, and do not commit adultery/fornication (yaznuna). And whoever does that will meet a penalty. 25:69 The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide forever therein humiliated 25:70 Except he who repents and believes and does righteous deeds, then for those Allah will replace their evil deeds with good ones. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(The root of “l-zina” (adultery/fornication) is “Zay-Nun-Ya”, and it means “to mount, the mounting upon a thing, to commit fornication / adultery, fornicator / adulterer”)(It is interpreted that you cannot commit skin-to-skin relation or involving “mounting”. But another interpretation is that you should not watch it either (e.g. watching people committing it while you masturbate) or you should not have thoughts about it either, lest you have a sinful mind)(The consequence of committing adultery / fornication is abiding forever therein (i.e. Hell)(25:68-69))(Allah knows best)

26:161 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear? … 26:165 Do you approach the males among the worlds 26:166 And you leave (watadharuna) what your Lord created for you as your mates (azwajikum)? Nay, you are a people transgressing."

(In masturbation, you are also leaving that which was created for you as your mates)(The root of “azwaji” (mates) is “Zay-Waw-Jiim”, and it means “spouse, marriage, to couple / join / pair / unite / wed, a pair, a fellow or like; zuwwijat: is paired, united; zaujan: wife; husband”)(The root of “tadharu” (leave) is “Waw-Dhal-Ra”, and it means “to leave / forsake / neglect, fall upon, wound, cut in slices, let, desist”)(Allah knows best)

27:54 And Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit (atatuna) immorality (l-fahishata) while you see? 27:55 Why do you approach (latatuna) men with lust (shahwatan) instead of women (l-nisai)? Nay, you are an ignorant people."

(In pornography, you indirectly approach men, because many people watch videos and photos in which there are men having relations with women. And many people find it more appealing than watching women alone)(Another point is that, if you watch their videos on the net, or buy it in a shop, you make them earn money, so they keep making more videos and photos, instead of encouraging to protect their modesty)(The root of “tatu” (approach / commit) is “Alif-Taa-Waw / Alif-Ta-Ya”, and it means “to come, to bring, come to pass, come upon, do, commit, arrive, pursue, put forth, reach, happen, overtake, draw near, go, meet, join, be engaged or occupied, perpetrate, undertake, etc.”)(And the root of “shahwatan” (lust) is “Shiin-ha-Ya / Shiin-ha-Waw”, and it means “to long or desire eagerly, made it to be good / sweet / pleasant or the like, loved it or wished for it, desired eagerly / intensely, yearning of the soul for a thing; appetite, lust, gratification of venereal lust, etc.”)(The root of “fahishata” is “Fa-Ha-Shin”, and it means “became excessive / immoderate / enormous / exorbitant / overmuch / beyond measure, foul / bad / evil / unseemly / indecency / abominable, lewd / gross / obscene, committing excess which is forbidden, transgress the bounds / limits, avaricious, adultery / fornication”)(Allah knows best)

54:43 Are your disbelievers better than those, or for you (is) an exemption in the Scriptures?

(Disbelievers are not an exemption to modesty. You cannot benefit from their immodesty, while they should be modest as well)(Allah knows best)

29:29 Indeed, you approach men, and you cut off the road and commit evil in your meetings?" And the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Bring upon us the punishment of Allah if you are of the truthful."

33:5 Call them by their fathers; it is more just near Allah. But if you do not know their fathers - then they are your brothers in religion and your friends. But (fa) there is no blame upon you if you made a mistake (akhtatum) therein, but what your hearts intended (ta’ammadat). And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(Some people say that masturbation prevents fornication / adultery, but it might not be an excuse. Actually, your heart/mind/eyes could also intend/commit fornication / adultery, so by masturbating you are not preventing fornication / adultery in your mind and with your eyes. You are “ordered” to lower your gaze and to protect your private parts. Those who disobey are to be punished)(The root of “ta’ammadat” (intended) is “Ayn-Miim-Dal”, and it means “to intend, support, aim, propose, commit (a sin intentionally); muta’ammidan: on purpose, intentionally, etc.”)(The root of “akhta” (mistake) is “Kh-Tay-Alif”, and it means “to do wrong, commit a mistake or error, commit a sin or crime or act of disobedience for which one deserves punishment, commit a fault or offense (intentionally or unintentionally), pursue a wrong way (intentionally or otherwise), miss or deviate from, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

33:35 Indeed, the Muslim men and the Muslim women, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obedient men and the obedient women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women, and the humble men and the humble women, and the men who give charity and the women who give charity, and the men who fast and the women who fast, and the men who guard their chastity and the women who guard (it), and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember - Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.

33:50 O Prophet, Indeed, We have made lawful to you your wives (azwajaka) (to) whom you have given their bridal money and those whom your right possesses from what Allah has given to you and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet, and the Prophet wishes to marry her - only for you, excluding the believers. We certainly, know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives (azwajihim) and those whom their rights possess, that there should be no discomfort upon you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. …

(The women mentioned in Verse 33:50 are lawful for marriage, not for fornication / adultery)(Allah knows best)

33:52 It is not lawful for you women after, and nor to exchange them for (other) wives, and even if their beauty pleases you, except those whom you rightfully possess. And Allah is an Observer over all things. 33:53 O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when permission is given to you for a meal, without awaiting its preparation. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, then disperse without seeking to remain for a conversation. Indeed, that was troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of you. But Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask them for something, then ask them from behind a screen. That is purer for your hearts (liqulubikum) and their hearts (waqulubihinna). And it is not for you that you trouble the Messenger of Allah nor that you should ever marry his wives after him. Indeed, that is an enormity near Allah.

(The word “qulubi” is translated/interpreted as “heart”, but also implies “mind”. So, your mind/heart should be pure. The root of “qulubi” is “Q-L-B”, and it means “The heart of something. In the Qur’an, it means the heart of the self, that is the heart and mind”)(Allah knows best)

2:283 And if you are on a journey and you do not find a scribe, then take pledge in hand. And if one of you entrusts another, then let the one who is entrusted discharge his trust, and let him fear Allah, his Lord. And do not conceal the evidence. And whoever conceals it - then indeed his heart is sinful. And Allah is All-Knower of what you do.

(Someone’s mind could also be sinful, not just the body or actions)(Allah knows best)

42:19 Allah (is) Subtle with His slaves; He gives provision (to) whom He wills. And He (is) the All-Strong, the All-Mighty. 42:20 Whoever is desiring (the) harvest (of) the Hereafter - We increase for him in his harvest. And whoever is desiring (the) harvest (of) the world, We give him of it, but (there is) not for him any share in the Hereafter.

42:36 So whatever thing you are given is but a passing enjoyment for the life of the world. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and put (their) trust in their Lord. 42:37 And those who avoid the greater sins and the immoralities (wal-fawahisha), and when they are angry, they forgive,

(Masturbation is regarded by many people as a small sin, but that’s not explicitly confirmed in the Qur’an. You have to avoid greater sins and “immoralities” in general)(The root of “fawahisha” (immorality) is “Fa-Ha-Shin”, and it means “became excessive / immoderate / enormous / exorbitant / overmuch / beyond measure, foul / bad / evil / unseemly / indecency / abominable, lewd / gross / obscene, committing excess which is forbidden, transgress the bounds / limits, avaricious, adultery / fornication”)(Another dictionary says that “F-Ha-SH (immorality) means “the ugly word or deed or any word or deed that has exceeded the border of decency and appropriateness. The term is often used related to sexual acts, but it is not limited to it”)(Allah knows best)

45:29 This, Our Record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We [We] used to transcribe what you used to do."

(Looking at videos and photos is like looking at real women)(Even the cartoons and Ai generated images of women are like looking at “women”, because, for example, the image of the calf is also called “calf” (2:51) in the Qur’an)(Allah knows best)

53:32 Those who avoid great sins and the immoralities except the small faults; indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He is most knowing about you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in your mothers’ wombs. So do not ascribe purity to yourselves. He knows best he who fears.

57:27 Then We sent Our Messengers on their footsteps and We followed with Jesus, son of Mary, and We gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But the monasticism (warahbaniyyatan) they innovated - We did not prescribe it for them - only seeking the pleasure of Allah, but they did not observe it with right observance. So We gave those who believed among them their reward, but most of them are defiantly disobediently.

(“Monasticism” is interpreted as doing something that was not prescribed, fearing God, so seeking the pleasure of God. The Verse does not say that it is ok breaking their vow of celibacy with masturbation, but it is ok breaking it in marriage, because marriage is explicitly allowed. The vow of celibacy was not prescribed but is not a sin, while according to some Verses, masturbation might not be a good thing)(The root of “rahbaniyyatan” (monasticism) is “Ra-ha-Ba” and it means “to fear, dread / terrify, to become fatigued / tired / weary; rahibun (pl. ruhban) – monk, monasticism, monkery; tarahhab = he became a rahib (or monk), fearing God, or feared God with reverence or awe; or he devoted himself to religious services or exercises, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

74:5 And avoid uncleanliness (wal-ruj’za),

(The root of “ruj’za” (uncleanliness) is “Ra-Jiim-Zay”, and it means “pollution / filth, calamity, evil kind of punishment, wrath, impurity, plague, scourge, pestilence, abomination, sin, iniquity, idolatry, deed deserving punishment, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

79:35 (The) Day (when) man will remember what he strove (for), 79:36 And the Hellfire will be made manifest to (him) who sees, 79:37 Then as for (him) who transgressed, 79:38 And preferred the life of the world, 79:39 Then indeed, the Hellfire, it is the refuge. 79:40 But as for (him) who feared standing (before) his Lord, and restrained (wanaha) his soul from the desires (l-hawa), 79:41 Then indeed, Paradise - it is the refuge.

(The root of “hawa” (desires) is “ha-Waw-Ya” and it means “desires / fancies, rev, perish, pull down, destroy, disappear, infatuate, yearn, beguile, be blown, inspire with low passion, to fall steep as a bird to its prey.”. Another dictionary says that the root “H-W-Y” means “what is between the earth and the sky and that is air and emptiness for the Arabs. Conceptually, it stands for desire because that is associated with air for Arabs. It also can apply to any entity that is not supported by a firm base, including ideas and unsupported biases”)(The root of “naha” (restrained) is “Nun-ha-Waw/Ya” and it means “to prevent, forbid, chide away, prohibit, make one to stop from, restrain, interdict, hinder, desist, refrain”)(Allah knows best)

2:120 And the Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the Guidance of Allah is the Guidance." And if you follow their desires after what has come to you of the knowledge, you will have neither any protector from Allah nor any helper.

(In Christianity, masturbation is forbidden in Matthew 5:27-30, it says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If you right eyes causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell”)(Despite Matthew 5:27-30 might be correct in that you should not masturbate, but Muslims are not commanded to self-mutilate. Verse 2:195 says, “let not your own hands throw yourselves into destruction”)(The Bible is corrupted, so it is not a reliable source, because Christians mixed truth with falsehood. Verse 3:71 says, “O People (of) the Book! Why do you mix the truth with the falsehood”. So, some matters in the Bible might be correct, and some other matters might not. See the link below “Is the Bible corrupted?”.)(Allah knows best)

4:23 Forbidden to you are your mothers, and your daughters, and your sisters, and your father's sisters, and your mother's sisters, and daughters of brothers, and daughters of sisters, and the mothers who nursed you, and your sisters from the nursing, and mothers of your wives, and your step daughters who are under your guardianship of your women you had relations with, but if you had not relations with them, then there is no sin on you. And wives of your sons who are from your loins, and that you gather together two sisters, except what has passed before. Indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

(According to Verse 4:24, “forbidden to you…” (4:23) is in the context of marriage, so women mentioned in Verse 4:23 are forbidden for marriage)(Allah knows best)

9:73 O Prophet, strive (against) the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be stern with them. And their abode (is) Hell, and wretched (is) the destination.

(Being stern with disbelievers and hypocrites does not imply allowing masturbation or fornication/adultery with them, but you cannot pick a meaning that contradict other Verses. The root of “stern” is “Gh-Lam-Za”, and it means “thick, gross, bulky, coarse, rough, hardness / rigid, strength, stern, vehemence, severe”)(Allah knows best)

49:12 O you who believe, avoid much assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy and do not backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would hate it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

33:30 O wives (of) the Prophet, whoever from/(of) you commits (a) clear immorality, for her the punishment will be doubled [two fold]. And that is easy for Allah.

41:17 And as for Thamud, We guided them, but they preferred [the] blindness over [the] guidance, so a thunderbolt (of) humiliating [the] punishment seized them, for what they used to earn.

42:40 The recompense for an evil is an evil like it. But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, then his reward is on Allah. Indeed, He does not like the wrongdoers.

(The sentence “the recompense for an evil is an evil like it” does not imply that if disbelievers masturbate or rape your women, you should do likewise with their women, on the contrary, the evil like it must be allowed (e.g. self-defense). Notice that the previous (42:39) and the next Verse (42:41) are about self-defense, rather than sexual matters, so the context of Verse 42:40 is also about self-defense)(Allah knows best)

3:179 Allah does not leave the believers in what you are until He separates the evil from the good. Nor does Allah inform you about the unseen, but Allah chooses from His Messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His Messengers, and if you believe and fear, then for you is a great reward.

2:221 And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing bondwoman is better than a polytheistic woman, even if she pleases you. And do not give in marriage to polytheistic men until they believe, and a believing bondman is better than a polytheistic man, even if he pleases you. They invite to the Fire, and Allah invites to Paradise and forgiveness by His permission. And He makes clear His Verses for people so that they may take heed.

2:194 The sacred month is for the sacred month, and for violations there is legal retribution. Then whoever transgressed (i’tada) against you, then you transgress (fa-i’tadu) against him in the same manner as he transgressed (i’tada) against you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear.

(The root of the word “transgress” is “Ayn-Dal-Waw”, and it means “transgress; adwun – wickedly, unjustly, spitefully, wrongfully; aduwatun – enmity; udwan – hostility, injustice, etc.”)(Muslims have to transgress in the same manner as non-Muslims transgressed. Let’s suppose that they raped or masturbated with your women, you cannot do it with their women, because you cannot transgress the limits of Allah (2:229), lest you be like them (a non-Muslim). The Verses of the Qur’an are not mutually exclusive but complement each other)(Allah knows best)
