Does the number 666 have a meaning in Islam? How many Verses are there in the Qur’an?

Does the number 666 have a meaning in Islam? How many Verses are there in the Qur’an?

2:252 These are the Verses of Allah, We recite them to you in truth. And indeed, you are surely of the Messengers.

(There are 6,236 verses in the Qur’an. Among the lies which Christians invent is that there are 6,666 verses, but that’s a wrong number of verses. They try to demonize the religion because they think that 666 is the number of “the beast”, but 6,666 is not even 666)(According to the articles “Number of the beast”, “616 (number)”, and “Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus”, in wikipedia, these articles confirm that Papyrus 115 (which is the oldest preserved manuscript of the Revelation 13:18), as well as other ancient sources like Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus, give the number of the beast as 616 (in Greek: hexakosiai deka hex), not 666 (hexakosiai hexekonta hex). So, even if the number of verses were 6,666, such number is other than 666, and even if the number of verses were 666, the number is in fact 616)(Note: the article “Number of the beast” in wikipedia is quoting the source: “Novum Testamentum Graece, Nestle and Aland” and “Metzger’s Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament”. The article “616 (number)” in wikipedia is quoting the source: “The Other Number of the Beast”. And the article “Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus” in wikipedia is quoting the source: “The Text of the New Testament: Its Transmission, Corruption and Restoration” by Metzger, Bruce; Ehrman, Bart D.”)(Allah knows best)

61:6 And when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."

(Some Christians say that Muhammad is the beast. The number 616 is the same number than Verse “61:6” in the Qur’an, in which Jesus predicted the coming of Muhammad, but he is announced as a Messenger, not as the devil. So, Verse 61:6 Itself does not say that Muhammad is the beast, nor Christians believe in the Qur’an in order to prove that Verse 61:6 might imply so)(Even if the Book of Revelation were to explicitly predict so about Muhammad, the Book of Revelation is irrelevant for Muslims, because the Bible is not a reliable source (the current Gospel differs from older Gospel sources. In addition, the older sources are in Greek instead of Aramaic (the language of Jesus); Jesus did not write the Gospel, but, it is anonymous, etc.). Nevertheless, if we were to apply this criterion, of the number “616”, to the Bible, then Isaiah 61:6 (containing the numbers “616”) says “you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God ...”. According to pulpit in biblehub(dot)com, “Israel was to be a kingdom of priests” (Exodus 19:6)), so Isaiah 61:6 is referring to the Jews; in that sense, Verse 61:6 of the Qur’an also mentions “Children of Israel”; then it could be concluded that the “beast” is a Jew, not an Arab. The Jews rejected Jesus, while Muslims believe in him)(Another interpretation is that Verse 61:6 has such number on purpose, for example, for testing people; so that the disbelievers and hypocrites might turn away from the Qur’an (2:26, 74:31, 17:82, 9:124-125), while the whole Qur’an obviously invalidates the interpretation that Muhammad is the devil. The Qur’an / Muhammad is actually against Satan)(Another point is that if the book of Revelation (13:18) were to invalidate the whole Qur’an, then it would also invalidate the Bible, because the Qur’an actually confirms the Bible (in that which was revealed by God, not in that which He did not reveal (e.g. contradictory concepts in the Bible)). If you do not believe in the Qur’an / Muhammad, then you are denying the matters mentioned in the Bible (God is One (not three); you must pray; you must fast; stories of the Prophets; the killing of the Prophets causes your punishment, rather than your salvation (Matthew 23:31-33), etc)(See the articles below “Is Islam a new religion? Does Muhammad differ from other Prophets?”)(Allah knows best)

61:7 And who (is) more wrong than (one) who invents the lie upon Allah while he is invited to Islam? And Allah (does) not guide the people [the] wrongdoers. 61:8 They intend to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His Light although the disbelievers dislike it. 61:9 He (is) the One Who sent His Messenger with guidance and (the) religion (of) the truth, to make it prevail over the religion, all of them, although the polytheists dislike (it). 61:10 O you who believe, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment? 61:11 Believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the way of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is better for you, if you know.

(Another point is that the context of the next Verses (61:7-11) is actually confirming Islam, and Muhammad as a Messenger of God. According to the context, the believers are actually required to believe in Allah and His Messenger (61:11), lest they be punished (61:10))(Allah knows best)

10:2 Is it a wonder for mankind that We revealed to a man from (among) them that, "Warn mankind and give glad tidings to those who believe that for them (will be) a respectable position near their Lord?" The disbelievers said, "Indeed, this is surely an obvious magician." … 10:15 And when Our Verses are recited to them as clear proofs, those who do not hope for the meeting with Us said, "Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it." Say, "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I follow not except what is revealed to me. Indeed, If I were to disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a Great Day."

(According to Verse 61:6, when Jesus came with clear evidences, the disbelievers said that “This is obvious magic”. The Verses of the Qur’an are also clear proofs (10:15))(On the other hand, the Book of Revelation is not a clear proof, and it was written after Jesus (ca. 275) by an anonymous person (though it is traditionally attributed to John the Apostle). The paradox is that the last gospel, the Gospel of John, is the most “satanic” gospel, because it differs from Mark, the first gospel. The Gospel of John contains sinful concepts such as the divinity of Jesus, due to later theological beliefs. See the articles below: “Is the Bible corrupted?”, “The Qur’an and Mathematics” and “Is the Qur'an scientifically correct?”)(Allah knows best)

35:6 Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.

(Islam (aka “Submission (to God)”) is God’s religion, and opposes Satan; anything that opposes Islam is satanic)(Some Christian concepts are based on John (last gospel (aka most corrupted gospel)) and Paul (who did not even meet Jesus, and he confirmed himself that he is from a much later generation (Colossians 1:25-6)). Paul opposed and contradicted Jesus)(Another point is that John and Paul were Jews. According to Matthew 15:24, Jesus “was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”. Jews falsely invented that Jesus claimed divinity, in order to kill him, and such a lie became the foundation of Christianity. So, the “original” anti-christ was a Jew. On the other hand, Muslims believe in Jesus and oppose Satan)(See the articles below: “Jesus vs. Paul” and “Is the Bible corrupted?”)(The Gospel (and the Book of Revelation) is not a reliable source because it is said that Jesus did not write the Gospel but is anonymous and was written in Greek instead of Aramaic (the language of Jesus), and the oldest Bible sources differ from the current Bible)(Allah knows best)

4:51 Do you not see those who were given a portion of the Book? They believe in superstition and false deities, and they say about those who disbelieve[d] "These are better guided to the way than those who believe[d].

(Following superstition and following people’s false sayings is idolatry. Obeying the devils is polytheism (6:121). Jesus did not say that the number 666 or 616 are the numbers of the beast, but it comes from people’s mouths who are not prophets, and have no authority to invent such concepts)(Allah knows best)

3:7 He is the One Who revealed to you the Book, in it are Verses which are absolutely clear - they (are) the foundation of the Book, and others are allegorical. Then as for those in whose hearts is perversity - [so] they follow what is allegorical of it, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. And none except Allah knows its interpretation. And those who are firm in knowledge, they say, "We believe in it. All is from our Lord." And not will take heed except men of understanding.

(Another point is that the clear Verses are the foundation of the Book (3:7). Many Christians follow parables or allegories, instead of the clear verses in the Bible. Matthew 13:13 and Luke 8:10 confirm that the purpose of the parables is that they may not understand)(Allah knows best)

9:63 Do they not know that he who opposes Allah and His Messenger, that for him is the Fire of Hell, wherein (he will) abide forever? That is the disgrace, the great.

16:98 So when you recite the Qur’an, seek refuge in Allah from the Satan, the accursed. 16:99 Indeed he does not have any authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.

4:76 Those who believe, they fight in the way of Allah; and those who disbelieve, they fight in the way of the false deities. So fight (against) the friends of Satan. Indeed, the strategy of Satan is weak.

36:60 Did I not enjoin upon you, O Children of Adam, that do not worship Satan, indeed, he is for you a clear enemy,

81:25 And it is not the word of the accursed Satan. 81:26 So where are you going?

2:208 O you who believe, enter in Islam completely, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you an open enemy.

2:268 Satan promises you poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

5:91 Satan only intends to cause enmity and hatred between you through intoxicants and gambling, and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from the prayer. So will you be the ones who abstain?

6:43 Then why, when Our punishment came to them, they did not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened and Satan made fair-seeming to them what they used to do.
