Did Jesus die already?

3:144 Muhammad is not but a messenger. Messengers have passed on (khalat) before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah (in) anything; but Allah will reward the grateful.

(Some non-Muslims say that Verse 3:144 suggest that Jesus already died, but Verse 3:144 says “Messengers have passed on before him”, rather than saying “all Messengers have passed on”, so the Verse does not necessarily imply that Jesus died before Muhammad did. And they say that it is in contradiction with Verse 4:158, which says that Jesus was raised, but Verse 4:158 speaks about a specific event/moment: Jesus was raised, instead of being killed or crucified. Being raised does not imply that Jesus was not to die in the end, but the Qur’an confirms that Jesus was to die, but not by the Jews. Anyway, there is no contradiction anyhow, because Verse 3:144 does not even say that “all Messengers have passed on”, but says “Messengers have passed on”)(Even the word “khalat” (passed on) might not necessarily imply death, according to the context, because the root of “khalat” is “Kh-Lam-Waw” and it means “to be empty, to forsake / abandon a thing, to be distant / remote / far from a thing, to be alone or without any companion, to pass away, etc”)(The sentence “if he was to die or be killed” (3:144) refers to Muhammad)(Allah knows best)

4:157 And for their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him nor did they crucify him; but it was made to appear so to them. And indeed, those who differ in it are surely in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And certainly they did not kill him. 4:158 Nay, Allah raised him (rafa’ahu) towards Him. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

(The root of “rafa’a” (raised) is “Ra-Fa-Ayn”, and it means “to raise / uplift / elevate, to take up, to lift / hoist, make it high / lofty, raise into view, to exalt, bring a thing near presenting or offering, to take away, disappear, honour, go upwards, high rank / condition / state, etc.”)(Allah knows best)

5:117 I did not say to them except what You commanded me – that, "You worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." And I was over them a witness as long as I was among them, then (fa) when You raised me (tawaffaytani), You were the Watcher over them, and You are Witness over all things.

(Verse 5:117 uses a word (tawaffay / raised) about Jesus which may imply death (in this world). The root of “tawaffay” (raised) is “Waw-Fa-Ya”, and it means “to reach the end, keep ones promise; tawaffa – to die; wafaat – death; waffaa – fulfilled, discharged obligation completely, etc.”)(So, that word is interpreted as “raised” in Verse 5:117, but it does not say so. Only Verse 4:158 explicitly says “raised”. There is no contradiction or mistake because Verse 5:117 does not specify the moment he dies in this world, while Verses 4:157-158 describes a specific moment/event, in which he was raised, rather than killed)(Allah knows best)

19:31 And He (has) made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined (upon) me the prayer and zakah, as long as I am alive 19:32 And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed. 19:33 And peace (be) on me (the) day I was born and (the) day I will die and (the) Day I will be raised alive." 19:34 That was Jesus, the son of Mary, a statement of truth about which they dispute.

(It is interpreted that Jesus, as any other human who was born in this world, is to die in this world, and will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. This Verse says “the day I will die”, which is not the moment in which Jews thought he had been killed and crucified)(Allah knows best)

21:34 And We did not make for any man before you immortality; so if you die, then (would) they live forever?

(Verse 21:34 does not say when Jesus die/d (in this world), whether before or after Muhammad (“before you” is singular), but the Verse implies that sooner or later (whether before or after) all humans are to die. The Verse does not say “after you”, because humans are to live forever in the Hereafter)(Allah knows best)

3:55 When Allah said "O Jesus, indeed, I (will) take you and raise you to Myself, and purify you from those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve on the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me (is) your return and I will judge between you concerning that about which you were differing.
