Marrying the wives of adopted sons? Can Muslims marry the divorced wives of adopted sons, yet it is forbidden to adopt sons?

Marrying the wives of adopted sons? Can Muslims marry the divorced wives of adopted sons, yet it is forbidden to adopt sons?

33:37 And when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you bestowed favor on him, "Keep your wife to yourself and fear Allah." But you concealed within yourself that which Allah was to disclose. And you fear the people, while Allah has more right that you (should) fear Him. So when Zayd ended the necessary (formalities) from her, We married her to you so that there (may) be no discomfort on the believers concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they have ended the necessary (formalities) from them. And the Command of Allah is accomplished.

33:4 Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his interior. And He has not made your wives whom you declare unlawful as your mothers. And He has not made your adopted sons (ad’iyaakum) your sons (abnaakum). That is your saying by your mouths, but Allah says the truth, and He guides to the Way. 33:5 Call them by their fathers; it is more just near Allah. But if you do not know their fathers - then they are your brothers in religion and your friends. But there is no blame upon you if you made a mistake therein, but what your hearts intended. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(The sentence “He has not made your adopted sons your sons” (33:4) does not prohibit Muslims to adopt sons. But, the Verse makes distinction between the adopted sons and the real sons. The word “ad’iyaa” (adopted sons) means “to seek, desire, ascribe, invite, assert, etc.”, while the word “abnaa” (sons) means “sons”. So, the real sons are the “sons”, while the meaning of the word “adopted sons” in Arabic does not imply that they are sons, but you can have them, so they are your invited/adopted ones)(In terms of marriage, the adopted sons are not real sons, so Muslims can marry the divorced wives of adopted sons. For the same reason, the adopted sons do not inherit wealth from the adoptive parents)(Allah knows best)

4:23 Forbidden to you are your mothers, and your daughters, and your sisters, and your father's sisters, and your mother's sisters, and daughters of brothers, and daughters of sisters, and the mothers who nursed you, and your sisters from the nursing, and mothers of your wives, and your step daughters who are under your guardianship of your women you had relations with, but if you had not relations with them, then there is no sin on you. And wives of your sons who are from your loins, and that you gather together two sisters, except what has passed before. Indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

(Verse 4:23 prohibits to marry “wives of your sons who are from your loins”. “From your loins” refers to real sons, not adopted sons)(Allah knows best)
